Letterman, LIPA and Schumer make the hit list

David Letterman has told boorish jokes about women for years, which is why he can't get a pass this time for his especially awful one about a Sarah Palin daughter.

The opinion pice stated that Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) spent $144,014 in six months for travel on charter flights within New York and asked: "But couldn't he rent a car?"

He could do what the average person does when they want to visit upstate - he could drive the Thruway or take Route 17 uo through the Catskills toward Binghamton and stay on 17 towards Elmira or he could go noth toward Cortland and Syracuse vua Route 81 and then take the Thruway to Rochester and Buffalo. Any of these options would allow him to visit the people of NY. The plane is an excuse to vacation and award friends money. See how much the people who own the plane donated to Schumer and any State / Federal contracts they may have.

Time to rid the Congress of all of the incumbents who work for themselves and their own self-interests, rather than in the interests of their constituents.

Chuck Schumer has been greedily feeding at the trough for way too long now. He protects the big money donors.

Just because the intended punchline of the joke wasn't at the game, doesn't make it a rape joke.

Arrogance and stupidity go hand in hand and know no bounds. Schumer thinks he is entitled to rule. The peasants be dammed. Letterman thinks he rules. LIPA rules, like it or not. You elected them. Next time, vote them ALL out. Start new. With an oath of allegiance to the people of NY, not some party. First remove all the judges who have demonstrated they will not uphold the law. The penalty needs to be death for betrayal of a public trust. This would apply to corporate officers who have public traded companies. Let us see how many are willing to try their hand at ruling then. I might be governed, but I will not be RULED.

Amazing, Newsday has to criticize three democrats, what to do, lump them all together.

Imagine if Pete King had wasted the taxpayers money like Schumer, it would have been a page 3 story, cover picture and one page editorial.

You need to get some balance on the editorial board. Bring back Joy Browne, at least that would be a start.

I thought letterman's joke was actually pretty funny... Queen abstinence's daughter gets knocked up at 17 by a local high school horn-dog and people defend her likes she's Princess Di.. Puhleaze... Palin chose to bring her trailer park family into the limelight and now she wants a hands off free ride to the GOP throne.. If she just went back to Alaska, which is about the size of Babylon, she could rule in silence and be forgotten.. If she travels as if she was important to this country, she and her misfit daughter are free game and no little GOP switch the focus tactic is gonna change that..

David Letterman's show will never be on my t.v. ever again. Of course, we never watched his show anyway...Leno was much more talented. Didn't Imus get fired for making a joke about the Rutgers women's basketball team and I don't think those comments involved jesting about sexual relations between a man and a young girl?
