Not a happy day for the employees, but what an opportunity for headline writers:

Exactly ! Waiting until after Christmas would have made ZERO difference, and 40 to 50 families would be having a Merry Christmas instead of getting pink slips and coal in their stockings.

I blame MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. If they didn't pressure governments to have more stringent drunk driving laws then I could drink more at home. I could then drive to the 7-Eleven and buy another 12 pack without worrying the cops will stop me.

My theory on the decline of useage of the aluminum cans? The fact that Pepsi Co started pushing 8 packs/4 packs instead of the old 12 pack standard.

People are paying more than they used to, and getting less for their money. And now the trickle down effect is being pushed onto the ball metal employees.

Don't blame obama. Blame Pepsi and their cockamamee (spelling?) ideas.

Who controlled both the Senate AND Congress during Bush's terms ? That's right, it was the Democrats. You're sounding like Cindy Sheehan...and we all know how sane she is.

I respectfully disagree. Knowing before Christmas will give people a chance to return some expensiveand frivolous gifts, stop spending like drunken sailors and cut back as soon as possible. Sometimes a Merry Christmas is not as important as you might think when you are going to be out of work soon. Unless your are 5 years old Christmas is overrated anyway.

I can see your point, too, Helen. Either way sucks.

I hope they are brave and let go of the un documented or poorly documented workers and keep as many legal residents as possible.

If I were to loose my job like these folks I be sure to keep an eye on this issue.

BTW:
My views are nationalistic in nature not racial.

I do not care where a person is from, be it Europe, Asia or the Americas if you do not have legal status you should not have a job and you should not be in the USA until you gain legal status.

In my opinion:
It's time for ALL HANDS ON DECK American Citizens grab a bucket and lets all start bailing together.
We are taking on water and we better start bailing so that we do not end up here (see link) again
