I hope these new baristas took the whopping 3 hr training class that $*'s offered a few months ago.
Horrible product, but they sure have brand loyalty. |

Wow has Lehigh changed. I preferred Theresa's, Uncle Mannys, Funhouse and My Mother's Bloomers when I lived in Bethlehem area.
I guess this is what administration wants, a bunch of "caffine hyped up aristocrats" rather than a bunch of male, sex starved, hard drinking, bunch of Engineers. Lehigh is not what it once was. I think it has now turned into St. Lawrence University. |

Lehigh is now a school developing "girly men" like every other liberal university in the east.
Lehigh has lost its unique identity in its effort to be an Ivy wanna-be. |

Lehigh is not what it once was. I think it has now turned into St. Lawrence University This is not neccessarily true. Basically Lehigh students are split into three factions. ist there are the real uptight snobs who look down at everyone and spend their time on the hill. If they do come down and fraternize it is at upscale places like Starters. The second group are a little more flexible and cultured. They are the artsy types who will go the Funhouse, Your Welcome Inn ect. Then the third level is the low rung trash who barely got in to Lehigh. They can be seen slumming it with the derelicts of the town at Mcgradys and the Tally Ho sleeping with anything that walks. Chances are this crew does not graduate. They flunk out or drop out ending up as bartenders somewhere. Plus they will end up as either baby mommas or baby daddys. |

Wow, when I went to college, the only way I could afford such an expensive cup of coffee, is if I convinced 9 friends to chip-in and share it.
I can't believe that Lehigh really has that many students, with spending cash to burn in their pockets, to support their own Starbucks. |
|
Once they switched from "Engineers" to that st00pid "Mountain Hawk" the trend began. And the bookstore was a lot better before B&N took over, too! |

The Jazzman's coffee shop that was there for several years was very similar to a Starbucks; same ambience and same prices. I don't see that much will change except that Starbucks has the brand recognition and marketing muscle. The Jazzman's suffered from limited hours, too.

Glad you stayed to live there in misery. Lehigh Valley has absolutely no unique identity anymore. It lacks leaderships across all major institutions. I agree with you, thank goodness I left, but I still have to repond to the issues my family has to deal with there and also pay my real estate taxes and income taxes. I much more enjoy my life in London and Asia. |

Starbucks is opening a company operated store (drive thru location!) at 3209 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem (in front of the Hilton Homewood Suites). They are opening on May 8th at 5:30am with a big "party" on the 7th from 6pm-8pm per the sign on the store.

I wonder if the coffee at that location will be just as lousy as at the others. |
|
Who cares about the coffee? Its the name on the cup that everyone wants and pays dearly for! |
|
|
What does this have to do with Starbucks at Lehigh U?
IMHO, it is YOU that has to drink a LOT less coffee!
|

Yeah, it's finals time and I heard some girl say "I couldn't study so I went shopping." The kids have money to burn for sure. |
