I think Clarence Fanto and State Rep. William S. "Smitty" Pignatelli could use a reality check because there is more pressing matters to worry about than what time the outlets opens on Black Friday. If you really want to complain about people being taken away from their families on Black Friday then why don't you target McDonalds, Friendly's, Price Chopper, or Cumberland Farms as well because they open ON Thanksgiving. It is also highly inappropriate to try to force your views of what Thanksgiving is about on other people because not every person in Berkshire County spends Thanksgiving with their family or even celebrates it. This year when I am sitting around the table and thinking of what I have to be thankful for I'll remember to be thankful that myself and many other people at Prime Outlets still have jobs with the state the economy is in. Smitty should realize that our economy is based on tourism and that bringing in tourists to shop and visit the Berkshires is how this county survives; futhermore, if he really wants to do something productive with all those folks in Boston may be he can try to figure out ways to bring in jobs into BC that don't depend completely on tourism. You both need to realize that it is not like we aren't being compensated for coming in and that most stores being flexible with scheduling so that you don’t have to work at midnight if you don’t want to. Many stores are also offering incentives for employees who do decide to come in at midnight. I am sick of people like Smitty complaining about what time we open, because his job is guaranteed for at least another year and our jobs are the ones in jeopardy with the economy being the way it is. With the spiking rate of unemployment I am just happy to have a job and I am not worried about coming in early on Black Friday in fact I welcome the extra hours. I’d also like to say incase you didn’t realize the mall employees have known for almost a year that we were opening up on at midnight on Black Friday and it wasn’t some surprise. I hear more complaining from people that aren't working at outlets than from the mall employees so what does that tell you?
