The wayward bullet struck a 13 year old girl, who is reported to be in stable condition at a nearby hospital.

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)- DC Police detectives are investigating a shooting in southeast that has sent a young girl to the hospital.

Officials tell 9NEWS NOW several bullets ripped into a home in the 1800 block of Frederick Douglass Place around Midnight Tuesday. One of those bullets struck a 13 year old girl in the back.

Police say the girl was transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released.

Right now police have no information on motive or possible suspects in the shooting.
