Pelosi must be laughing. Now the filthy American citizen scum will be forced to fund her State's outrageously ridiculous Democratic Party FAILURES.

No one could have less integrity than one of today's valueless California Democrats! We are a bunch of sick tickets to no where.

You nailed it, Doug. Thanks for laying out what many of us have been thinking, blogging and feeling so succinctly and effectively.

This country is in some deep doo doo because of, as Doug put it "hubris, greed, isolation from and contempt for the people." It will destroy us if we allow it to continue.

Our government is out of touch with the people from immigration, taxes, bureaucracy, and too many other issues across the board.

Being a relative newbie to the LA area, 3 1/2 years, I have learned so much about LA and California and the dysfunction that rules both, from listening to you daily on the radio. And it all only reminds me how bad I want out of here to go back to one of the other 3 states in which I've lived...Texas, Florida or North Carolina. I admit none of those are perfect, but compared to California, which as I tell my friends from those states 'should be it's own country'; they at least have some connection to the real world. Until then, I will read your columns and listen on the radio to protect my sanity....so nice to know I'm not alone out here.

I'm afraid that we can keep spending ourselves stupid. Too much time has passed for this generation to have any idea of the personal horrors of the Great Depression, so we are doomed to repeat it.
The pathetic thing about this wholesale looting of our generation is that we are building nothing, improving nothing, and preparing for nothing. We are merely shoveling money at the follies of our politicians and the crooks that are raping us. As long as we do not change and continue to trust the politicans and political system that got us into this mess, we are ensuring that our children will be paying the price for our ignorance. Unfortunately:

As long as Comrade Pelosi has her way the citizens don't stand a chance. No group in American history is as commmitted to destroying America as the demonic progressive filth who have voted to assure the end of Calif. as a decent home for citizen families.

Pelosi is infecting the rest of American with the malignant nonsense that has destroyed California.

Los Angeles majority Democrats choose to fail. Is that the same as failing? We prefer chaos, violence, and hate to any sense of Community. What else could explain the current Mob of Trash who operate out of City Hall?

Doug, you are SO naive!!! CA and LA will NEVER fail! CA is the biggest $$$ donor to the DemocRAT party! Schwarzenegger and Villar are getting a $30 BILLION bailout from Obama in a few weeks. This is why they have been stalling the Budget since last June!

LA and CA are ALREADY failed States! But the printing presses are alive and well at the Treasury Dept.!

We have a total disconnect between citizens and elected officials! They view us as just fleas on an elephants back! In fact, they resent our presence! The middle class is leaving in droves, but not to worry...Obama will keep funding CA!

The only question is: When will China stop buying our debt??? I suspect NEVER! My prediction is that everyone will just default on their debt...and we will become a Nation of IOU's!!!!

What are U complaining, Doug? Didn't U vote for Obama? Isn't he the same like all the demoCRAPS in LA & CALIFORNIA? And don't tell us that McCain is the same as Obama in many ways & that's why U voted for him!U are just as phony as the rest of politicians!! Two wrongs does not equal right! Stop complaining!! We deserve the govenment that we vote for!! The way I look at it: we are on auto pilot to self destruct!! Until we hit bottom, nothing will happen!!

Doug is right on the mark. The average person who is barely treading water to keep finically afloat, can't continue to be burdened with the weight of more taxes, fees, and higher costs in order to keep the Government and Big Business from going under.

Doug voted for Obama? Then I'm afraid LV2 above is correct about your complaint sounding hypocritical, Doug. I sure as hell didn't think that McCain was the ideal republican candidate, but I held my nose and voted for him as the lesser evil. Anybody with an ounce of common sense knew that a vote for Obama was a clear vote for high-tax, bureaucratic, Nanny State socialism.

Speaker Pelosi is keeping her promise to bring America down to California's level.
