College costs keep rising because you'll pay anything.
It's a racket. Time to get Rudy "RICO statutes" Giuliani on the case.

Every time the Feds raise the $$$ amounts to assist students the colleges raise the costs an equal amount.
Makes sense , it's just free money which is basically built in inflation.

College and University costs = professors' high salaries!
Here's just ONE university in FL:
mulitiply that for every college and university and then add PENSION, HEALTHCARE and other BENEFITS the PUBLIC PAYS!
Here's one public school system in Palm Beach County, FL in 2010
Cost of college = direct correlation to the salaries of professors

College cost are rising because of regulation. Ever wonder why you have to pay all those fees for non educational things you will not and will never use. It is because the colleges have the racket locked up and use regulatory accreditation to keep the competition out.
I can take entire curriculum's from MIT online, many of these free online courses are a little out of date but you get the idea. It is possible to get a degree online which incorporates the right amount of testing and classroom which would be just as valuable as a 4 year brick and mortar degree.
There are some things for which you need the interaction of the classroom experience but many that do not. Such an education would be far cheaper with far lower costs to the colleges but why loose a good thing. With government backing up the loans there is not reason to cut cost.

And just wait, before the election Obama will come out with a plan to forgive college debt.
We have these students who worked hard in college, they could be spending money on living life and their family boosting the economy with their spending. But no they have to pay these sky high college loans back. And who does that help, does it help the economy? No, all it does is go to the pockets of a bunch of fat cat bankers on wall street. We need that money on main street where it will do the economy good.
Just watch he will pull some BS like that, after all public money is free why not give it away. Those bankers who lent the money, they did not make that, the government made that money.

Hi Robert just to let you know, Obama already did come out with a system that allows govt student loans to be forgivable. I'm not sure how many yrs you have to pay but after a long while of paying the loan it eventually becomes forgivable. Not 100% sure but I believe it's either after 10yrs or 30yrs. I'm not mad about that one bit.

There are a lot of students who have already started or gone through the system, they represent a lot of votes and he wants their vote too, he will give them hope of loan forgiveness too.
