I would love to figure out how to get a class-action lawsuit filed against these guys. Lies, lies, and more lies. They have also charged me for someone else's membership along with my own. It has been over a month since they promised me a refund. I have been round and round with corporate in California. I wish I knew someone at the new station to show bally's true colors.

It's obvious that Bally's in Baton Rouge has hoodwinked all of us. I was wondering if I was the only one feeling like a fool for signing a contract with them in July 2006 thinking the building would actually be open by Dec of the same year. It's a horrible shame for most of us that signed on early, but the reality is our contract will basically be over by the time the new building actually opens.
post you comments on the Baton rouge TOPIX under "Bally's " your not alone

I've also wondered how I could take action against Bally's. I've been a member since 1995 and I paid the plan's due to own the membership for life, premium, with option to go to any location in the country and sell it as well if I wanted to at a later date. This appealed to me since I thought people would likely pay for at least part of what was a paid membership since monthly fees were only $7, but obviously, no ones wants to buy a lemon so it wasn't a good investment.

These fees stayed the same until roughly 2003 or 2004, going to $8. Then they increased to $11 in 2005 and now $19 in January 2007. This is CRAZY! I've already paid them my upfront fee of $250,$30/mo first year,$40/mo second and third year to own something that I now pay $19/mo for maintenance fees? It only costs this much for a month-to-month plan at 24HR Fitness, which is two blocks away, WAY cleaner with new equipment instead of being 10 miles away. It's such a hassle to get there, it adds to me not wanting to go and just gives me another reason not to go. I tried calling their 1800 number from the paper that they sent me in Dec 06 advising me of the increase in $8 fee to cancel the membership, and after waiting an hour on hold, I ended the call. How does one get out of it?
