I made the mistake of joining for a year. By the time they added all the fees, etc, the advertised price of $19.95/month had gone up to a real monthly price of $30. Wish I could join the class action suit but I didn't keep the proof.

They also must think that exercise people are exhibitionists, since every one of their places has a huge plate glass front so everyone outside can see everyone inside on the bikes or whatever.

I agree with Mike..do NOT join this club. They are very difficult to deal with and they won't work with you once they get your money. They are quick on getting a collection agency on you. They should be closed down for unlawful practices.

I signed up with ballys jan 2005 30days for $5. At the time of sign up I was promised a personal trainer, I was told that someone would contact me to see if I wanted to keep my membership. I was also asked if I need people who maybe intrested. I gave 4 names. I went to ballys one time. I had no personal trainer, no one showed me how to use the equipment.No one ever called to ask me if I wanted to keep my membership. I was contacted by ballys March 05 asking for payment of $2669.00. They also told me I could not cancel my contract because I have to attend 15 times. I asked what was I being bill for. I wrote to ballys corp. in California twice. They sold it to Asset Acceptence LLc Corp. Asset wants over $4000.00 now. I ask them for debt validation. They sent me a half contract with those 4 people I said maybe intrested included. I never said that I was paying for them. They were all addressed to my home. How can change this. They are ruining my credit.

I agree with you. I signed in Jan. 2008 for a month to month (no contract) and I signed to pay every month for $27.00. I payed in the club for the month of Feb. and Mar. and I was trying to use my debit card and apparently my account was overdrawen so I called my bank and those m***er f***ers have been charging my card! I was so pissed I wanted to cancel my account. I misplaced my contract so I requested a copy because the raised my monthly to $34.10 without notifying me and they also said I signed a 3 year contract and I signed for month-to-month. I will sue them if they don't give me my money back. So don't sign anything with this company it's cheap then most gyms but look what happens they steal your money. This was in SOUTH BAY.

I was also ripped off by Bally's/Crunch. A lien was placed on my bank accounts last week for nearly $8000(double the amount they claim I actually owe)for a year memebership in 2003 that I never used. PLEASE HELP!! Doess anyone know how to become apart of this lawsuit, if so please email me at [e-mail]. I am in the process of tryin to figure out how to file a class action suit myself or hire a lawyer to do it for me. I refuse to paying one red cent for something that I never used!
