NetJets promotes Hansell to president | The Columbus Dispatch
#2 Nov 5, 2010
If I am reading this correct, a struggling NetJets company decides to purchase their "sister" company that sells JetCards. This move would seem to signal that there isn't an overwhelming amount of demand for fractional interests in aircraft anymore--especially when you consider Sokol's brilliant move of further diluting aircraft ownership by offering 1/32nd shares. Now with the company in turmoil and losing customers, they promote an unseasoned attorney from the thriving metropolis of Des Moines (great pedigree I'm certain) to steer this firm into the future. As a NetJets fractional owner I would be terrified and would liquidate that fraction if at all possible--only problem being the haircut one will take since the residual value is probably less than 50%. Sokol seems to be smarting from the slight of being passed over as Warren's successor. This promotion is curious to say the least!

Never owned a fraction but would be frightened right now if I did. I found a great alternative to Marquis earlier this year. Been flying with Jetcard Plus and they have given me the same aircraft Marquis uses with great crews.
