Spacemaker Toaster Ovens

I bought the new spacemaker toaster oven, and there are quite a few differences. First of all, the holes for installing the under the counter bracket does not line up with the old ones so you have to drill new holes. Secondly, the rack does not pull out when the door is open, unlike the older model, and lastly, you have to set all 3 knobs on the new model just to toast something.

I have also been looking for a new spacemaker toaster oven. I know that Target carries them but they always out of stock online and in the 3 stores near my home. They only get a few in at a time and they go right away. I have also found it online at Sears and Kmart but both were out of stock. They do offer email to emial you when they come in if you supply your address. I am still waiting for that email. Ebay does sell them but the prices are crazy!!! B&D does not show it on there web site... Who know it would be so hard to get one!!!:)

Apparently they are being delivered directly to customers' homes - right from the warehouse. That is why Sears never seems to have any in stock. The problem: No one seems to know how customers are ordering them ???? I was told that you can order a back ordered item, but then when I attempted to do so, was told I could not!!

Target website is actually www.target.com/Black-Decker-Spacemaker-Toaste... . The funny thing is that it never mentions it is an under counter mount model. So if you read details you would pass this over. B&D website still doesn't list the item. I didn't check Sears. Only some Target stores have it, Walnut Creek CA didn't tonight. What amazes me is just how bad the advertising and roll out is on a very useful and obviously in demand item. Good luck!

You have to go in through Black & Decker's main site. I was looking for some tools and came across it. They are showing two different models in both black and white. I found the lower end model at Target here in South Jersey in white, but have had no luck finding either one in black yet.

Black & Decker sold off their small appliances to a company by the name of Applica. Not sure when it occured but at least a year ago or maybe two. I believe that's when the design changed to the one I have now which I feel is much more cheaply made. They added a timer on it for baking I am guessing b/c of the earlier mentioned law suit. Applica quality seems to be much lower than classic b&d. i'm here b/c mine is already dead. only the bottom coils work, and you know it will cost more to repair than to buy a new one.

I found a B&D space saver oven, coffee pot, and can opener at Target. I loved mine, but I'm looking for black, Target only had them all in white. I didn't even know there was a recall until I read these postings.

I just saw a white "spacemaker" toaster oven at Target and it's also on their website. Google it and you'll also find the Black and Decker toaster ovens,( in black and white), on Amazon.com along with other sites.

I have been looking for a new spacemaker toaster oven for about 6 mos. now and am getting impatient. I have had a Black and Decker spacemaker oven for many years and it still works but is getting banged up and dirty, etc. I do not want a counter top one as I do not have a pantry and my countertop space is limited.
