Spacemaker Toaster Ovens

I have been searching for a spacemaker classic toaster oven. Why in the world would Black and Decker stop making this toaster oven? There is no reference to this model on any B&D web site.

They had a recall and were fined becuase of fires.

Our 2005, B & D spacemaker toaster oven just sparked at the heating coiling and then same said coil broke in half .. yup ... likely could have started a fire if left unattended. That being said, I am still going to try to find another one. I can't imagine doing without my toaster oven or the space saving feature.!!

I love mine too and never left it un attended - I have searched and cannot find a new one, obviously due to the recall - I too will continue to find one

Just got home from driving around looking for a replacment spacesave toaster oven. Mine works as an oven but not as a toaster. I want to find one that will slide into the same bracket. It looks like they don't make them anymore I can't even find them on any websites.

We had our Spacemaker Toaster Oven since the late 90's and still had it until we remodled our kitchen. It still worked, except it looked horrible with the new. My husband constantly used it. I cleaned it. We loved it because it saved space and did the job. No one should have ever left one unattended, not even a regular toaster. I miss the toaster, and the space that it saved. Please, is there anyway you can bring it back, and while you are doing it, make it stainless and red, please.

i have had mine for years. we are also remodeling our kitchen and our old toaster oven is icky. guess i will try to clean it like annie did.

Check out Sears. Just got a sales flyer with the new Black and Decker Spacemake Toaster Oven for $64.99 in black. Target.com show a white one for %59.99

They are making new ones. Target will carry it. Target near me has the display model but hasn't gotten any for sale, yet. Black and Decker doesn't even have it on their website, but it's in the Target stores. I had the same problems.

I have my B & D spacemaker toaster oven for about 20 years and was very disappointed when I couldn't buy a new one. Today, November 1, 2008 my wife bought a B & D spacemaker toaster oven at Target in Encinitas, CA. It is white, I would have prefered black. Take what you can get.

Just bought my new spacemaker toaster oven from Target....not online yet but you can find them in the stores.

Good news for everyone! Black and Decker's new Spacemaker Toaster Oven is in local Target stores. Check their website to see if it is in near you. I am so happy!

The problem with the new version of any toaster ovens is that you can't leave the "darkness setting" where it is and just push the lever to start the toasting. All the ones I've looked at, you have to turn the timer--you have to remember where you set it yesterday and have to get it just right! I really miss my B&D ugly old thing...there are some on E-Bay, but I'm in the same boat--new kitchen, etc. I may just have to get one and hide it in the corner of the counter!

I too loved my small, space-saving B&D toaster over and still use it. But it looks terrible after all these years, even with cleaning. I knew they had been taken off the market years ago, but I was surprised on a recent visit to Target to see a new B&D undercounter Spacemaker over. It's bigger than my old one, and presumably safer. So, has anyone bought the new Spacemaker Toaster Oven and used it? I'm in need of a toaster oven and like the idea of a space saver, but all the online reviews of B&D toaster ovens say they are not good at toasting (my primary purpose) and can even catch on fire!

Yeah, I am going to order it from Sears as it seams that Target only has the white one.

any update on the black model? sears doesn't have any in stock and target sppears to still ony have white?
