Bestbuy employees lie to custmers to get them to purchase extened warrantys on their products. Then when you call for service they tell you that it isnt under warranty. Yet there were 3 people who heard this employee state that if any thing happened to your Television that it would be covered he said he wouldnt advise driving over it or hitting it with a bat but it would be covered so how much extra are the paying the employees to tell the working class poor to suck them in and then they have the nerve to tell you that you can get the warranty back but it will be prorate what a joke I will tell 10 people and my husband will tell all the employees at general motors who in turn will tell all there friend and in a matter of a few days thirty thousand people will have heard what was done and some of those thity thousand people will decide not to shop at BEST BUY ANY MORE.They lie and if someone lies to customers what else do you think they are doing I won't go there so if you read this think twice before making a big purchase at BEST BUY because your thowing your hard earned money down the drain or maybe I should say there probably just putting in their pockets. Liars I think I will post a big sign at work, I think i will get in touch with Goodmorning America Diane Sawyer,Robin Roberts I think one of the employes there would like to discuss this.

Anthony I have to agree with bobby no other electronics store even offers a rewards type program so keep that in mind before you complain, and Deb I don't want to burst your bubble but I'd be surprised if all your complaining even stopped one person from shopping at Best Buy

Your ignorant. A SERVICE plan (which means your item will be sent out to SERVICE and be repaired, and if it can not be repaired, you will get a new one or the store credit for the amount it was purchaced at) covers..... Manufacturers defects Dust Heat Humidity Power Surge It does NOT cover Water Damage or Physical Damage A REPLACEMENT PLAN means if any of the above listed number of problems happens, YOU GET A NEW ONE! Which ever employee told you that ANYTHING is covered was probably a part time minor there just for a paycheck and does not care about the job. And i'm sorry, you telling your friends about best buy being a bad store isn't going to do a DAMN thing. We are the number one electronics dealer in the U.S. Thats like telling your friends not to buy microsoft products..........

@Anthony
What is exactly your problem with Best Buy? Didn't their customer care service solve your problem, or that they have outsourced it? If it's the second, there are a lot, and I mean A LOT of companies that you should be boycotting as well... Vonage and HSBC for instance! Good luck

Best Buy only cares about how much profit they can make and not about the customer. They tried to sell an old open box pioneer receiver as new. When I tried to ask questions in their 5th Avenue store about the quality of the receiver they asked me to leave. What a rip off. You have to crazy to shop there.

Actually what you should be doing with the pamphlet is while you are getting the paperwork together for them and getting inventory to pull down their T.V... have them read the service plan themselves. Takes a few minutes and then explain what they have read afterwards. Takes the blame off of you and puts it in hard-copy form for the customer. The performance plan IS actually a great way to protect one's investment AND save yourself an average repair cost of about $500-$700...

My laptop has been with geek squad/HP/best buy for almost 6 weeks! I purchased an exteneded service plan and it has been under HP service plan as well. It has been lest then a year since I bought the laptop. To make a very long story short. It has been back and forth from HP To Geek squad several times and it is yet to be fixed! Everytime I call I get a lie, or a different answer. I got a call a few days ago saying it was fixed/ and shipped from HP and I should have it by Friday morning. Today! Well, not only was it no shipped from HP, the work has not been completed. They said they put a rush on it from last time.(over two weeks ago) I am a single mom taking onine classes to finish my degree to better my career. I canceled one class in Aug. to get the laptop fixed. I have no other computer!Hard to take an online class with out a computer. The guy at best buy says to go the library. I said, are you a working single mom! I do my work while my kids are sleeping! When they called me on Wednesday they asssured me it would be fine, no need to cancel the class that started a week ago. Last day to cancel the class of course is today. Out 1800.00 dollars for a class! When I called today, they said buy a open box computer and then return the computer. What! I am a single mom with no debt and I want to keep it that way! I don't use credit cards. He says, I am sorry their is nothing I can do! what kills me is no one wnats to take responsibility for their actions, it is everyone else's fault, out of their control to make the customer happy! I would have been happy with a sincere "I am sorry letter, and 50 dollar gift card" I could then maybe buy my daughter a birthday present from Aug! Oh well what can I do! Try to stay positive and get thru it. but I still will never shop their again or buy a computer from them. They sick, and their customer service sucks too! Take care!

I work for BB and all I can say is STFU to all of you who think they are "evil" and want your money. They are the best thing to happen in retail stores in my town and nothing else compares to just how far we go to provide the total solution for our customers.
If you think BB has problems go shop at Sears and just see how well you get customer service or help after you purchase an item.
O and by the way, for you guys that think they are just trying to sell you a service plan for their own gain, you have it SOOOOOO wrong. No commission=No pressure, unless your dealing with a specific person.
K Thx bye

Here's a bestbuy first. I've had a reward zone account since 2004. I've bought so much stuff from them its ridiculous. getting a $5 reward zone certificate in the mail causes me to go to best buy right away and I spend about another $100. Well this past month we decided to upgrade the tv's in our house so my mom bought an LCD tv using her best buy credit card and my wife bought one using hers and I bought a whole bunch of nintendo wii stuff. Total we spent close to $3000 just in this month alone. To make a long story short - best buy canceled my reward zone account denying me any of the points saying that I am the only person allowed to use my reward zone card and I cannot use any credit card with someone elses name on it even if I am present and they are present for the transaction. Then to top it all off when you call 1888bestbuy and ask to speak to someone in the reward zone points department, there is not one person without an indian accent. I went through about 6 c/s reps and not one of them understood what I was talking about. Finally a supervisor named ryan with an india accent came on the phone and told me bottom line is my account is terminated because I violated the terms of service. Well how come the best buy cashiers are not trained to tell you that the credit card and the reward zone name do not match. Thats a bunch a b/s if you ask me. They c/s reps told me if I wanted to I could return everything that I bought back to the store and rebuy it using a reward zone card witht he same name on the credit card. So tonight I went to the store and not one associate or the store manager knew what I was talking about. They said they never heard of that ever. So now tell me where I went wrong and how i got jerked.

A policy change is the result of your problem,(I believe). The card you use to purchase products from Best Buy MUST HAVE YOUR NAME ON IT. If you think about it from a business standpoint it makes a lot of sense. BUT, Best Buy's execution of the policy change has been poor. Before go blaming people however, tell me if you could be a company that big, and have done better. Compare them to other companies, do they do any better? Or are you making unrealistic demands? If you can think of a store that does it better... then why are you shopping at Best Buy?

I was looking for computer memory, had to take my daughter somewhere and realized a best-lie was on the way.stopped in to look.(bad mistake).I was going to go to a local computer store.seen best-lie had same memory for 101.99, computer store price 34.99,exact thing. asked about price match, the guy said "oh yes we price match". when he seen the computer store price, I was told, and I quote "Im not selling it to you that cheap,Im not knocking 65.00 of the price" so is there anything else I can help you with today. ask to speak to the manager, reply "I manage this department and your not getting it that cheap"..turned around and walked away. called best-lies customer relations, was told he said, other store was out of stock on it, best-lie, they had 48 in stock, not to mention when I called the store to complain about ol trey, the store manager HUNG UP ON ME........

They sold me a TivoHD as new. I opened it up to find the manuals missing, finger prints all over the box, missing wires, and the plastic case of some dvd that someone left in there. I brought it back, and told them they should let ppl know if they are buying returns! I didnt even get a 'sorry for the accident'. she gave me my money back, and that was that. What BS though, gas aint cheap, and best buy is not close! Keep fucking up, better start paying people for gas wasted to drive back and forth!
