Try that in America. 6 weeks notice. If that were here, BA would call upon layed off cabin crew from anywhere, hire off the street and train folks. Dec 20th lock out the union, bring in the scabs, and the uunion would be out pending a court hearing. If the judge would be a Bush appointee, the union people would be boned. See NWA v AMFA

Isn't the parliamentary and socialistic British system wonderful?
Don't make plans to fly to London on BA over Christmas.
