What does US think of airline security?

Here's one. You go thru security in Europe. When you land in the U.S. you are kept in a customs (sterile)area. Then rather than just going to your gates you are sent outside the sterile are and thru U.S. security. If you've never had access to the outside world, why do you need to be rechecked in the U.S.?

With an aging population why can't we have senior flights to further safeguard against terrorists. There are enough seniors to justify chartering 50 seater regional jets with no young thugs aboard. I believe that chartered flights are needed.
