BofA is in several lawsuits for this very thing right now! Depends on what state you are in - but several class action suits are going forward in several states including WA, FL and TX. At least the folks in Galveston County TX finally got their house back. They may be able to help you with a lawyer. The URL to their story is...

Good luck! They are shady bas-tards. I hope you get some satisfaction.

Peat - it may be a long story, but apparently it is also a common one. MANY lawyers will take your case.

All the rules have changed in the last couple of months. Lending banks are now being held accountable for the trap they set, borrowing money they didn't themselves have, while using loose and illegal practices in the process. The massive lawsuit against Wells Fargo / Wachovia, Indymac / OneWest bank, Citibank, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, GMAC..........can actually, not only put a stop to your foreclosure, but also pause your house payments with no loss to you..........
