Just another reason to bank with a credit union. We bail the big banks out, they go back to their old tricks of screwing the customer. No thanks
They were bailed out because the government had them take sub prime mortgages. The government told investors/banks they would back up these undesirable loans if they went south.

Well they went south and the government had to back up the mortgages they promised to do so.

Thanks for speaking the truth, Kay. I am a BOA employee and there is ONE certain new checking account that is geared towards the younger generation (who seem to only use electronic means to access their accounts anyway)which does charge a MONTHLY service charge when a live teller is used for a transaction that could be done at an ATM. However, if the transaction involves coins, buying a money order, etc.(in other words it CANNOT be done at the ATM) there is no service charge assessed for that if a teller is used. As usual, the media states things out of context and gets all the customers in a panic. Like Kay says, there are ways to keep ANY and ALL of the checking accounts we offer free of any fees. And as far as overdraft fees go, maybe people should keep track of what they're spending before swiping that debit card haphazardly. You wouldn't believe the lack of responsibility we see in some people maintaining their accounts!

B of A is facing several class action suits in various states for FORECLOSING ON HOUSES THEY NEVER OWNED!!! As well as wrongful foreclosures.

For anyone who thought Bank of America halted foreclosures for a short time out of the kindness of their hearts is dead wrong. The mainstream media does not report on the 100s of people that are suing BofA for misuse of TARP funds, wrongful foreclosure, damage to homes (perpetrated in the name of wrongful foreclosures) ranging from destroying the plumbing and cutting all wires in one family's home, and foreclosing on another family's home in Galveston County TX THAT THE COUPLE HAD PAID CASH FOR - IN FULL!!! Of course, after four months of litigation, the couple was able to get their house back. Turns out, they never even had a BofA loan and the foreclosure was supposed to be on a neighboring property.

Plus I have worked with this bunch of losers. If you bank with them, invest with them or anything else - you DESERVE whatever they give you. Which will probably not be comfortable - while you are bent over.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay anyone $8.95 to bank with a teller.

I haven't done business with BOA since they started letting illegals open accounts. In any event, you can thank Pelosi, Frank, Dodd and Obama for the new banking laws. Obama was crowing about how he cracked down on the banks just the other week. Same old, same old. Whenever government gets involved in anything, the unintended consequences (are they really unintended?) cost the little guy.
Get the facts right, moron. BOA didn't start letting "illegals" open account. What you are referring to was a practice prior to 9/11 that ALL financial institutions did not require a social security or tax id to open an account. Once legislation passed requiring proof of identity, banks and financial institutions were no longer able to open these accounts. There was no reason to close accounts that did not have a social or tax id. Think of your poor old grandmother or grandfather that didn't have a social number when they applied for credit or used each others....would yo want to deny your granny a checking account?

Buddy.....your full of prunes.....we must not allow anyone to open any banking account without a SS number.

All illegals are crimminals and must be deported. We must not support those elected officals who fail to enforce our immigration laws. We must remove them from office.

Except Doctors and Lawyers nobody charges a fee to deal with their customers.. BoA pays .02% on a savings account making billions of dollars and paying no federal tax on profits. Charging teller fees is way over the top!!!

Has anyone EVER looked at thier Scehule of Fees from their bank? Every bank has one and this piece of READING tells you what exactly you are getting and what exactly you are paying for. This article header just reinforces the lack of paying attention on what you are buying. YES when you go to a bank you are buying a service. Last I checked there is no bank out there that says Non Profit on its doors. I emplore everyone with there rash statements to stop and read about what they are making wild comments about. If you are being charged 8.95 You have an Ebanking account. In order to not be charged the fee simply make your deposits and withdrawls at the ATM. In fact at BofA fees schedule its on the first page!* use paperless statements and use self service options (such as our atms or online banking instead of a teller) for deposits and withdrawls.
