So some may ask why? so are these the same people who have been crying about "the union and management are in bed together", "it is a conflict of interest", "Solidarity House is run by the company"-----so when Fiat does go all in and the UAW does not have a stake in the company then what. Now does Sergio keep it private?--funny how when the UAW does have their hands on the financial books at least we know what we are dealing with....soon we may "get what we asked for" and then we can all cry about how Fiat is screwing us over, but if they are a private company we will not even see the finances.

Catch 22 in my opinion.....

They gave it to the UAW instead of cash thinking the company was going to be bankrupted anyway. I think the UAW should keep it so they have more say on what going on company wide but the sale of this was set up in the bankrupty court.

He won't keep it private. He'll be the biggest shareholder. He's not going to miss out on that windfall. He can't wait for the IPO.

After Chrysler went into bankruptcy in 2009, a new Chrysler Group emerged, with Fiat owning a 20% stake in a deal brokered by the U.S. government, which took an 8% stake. A majority stake -- 55%-- was owned by a UAW retiree trust.
Not own by the UAW but the UAW retiree trust. They tried to do away with this before that is retiree health care. It would be hard to retire with 30 years without some kind of health care if your to young for Medicare ,like in your 50s.

Fiat has plans to build Jeeps and a new line of Alfa Romeos in Italy for export to markets in Asia, Latin America and the United States.

What happened to the plan of building the alfa romeos at JNAP. The Italians are going to take what they can and run just like Daimler. I give it three years. Chrysler should be owned by Americans. Nice

No Americans wanted Chrsyler. Sergio did. Thank goodness. Italians can't do any worse than americans have throughout the years.. No Alfa 's we rumored to be built at JNAP. The Maserati SUV was. Makes sense for them to built it in Italy. The crisis in Europe will be a prolonged one. Sergio has set a groundwork where our products will be strong enough to keep things fine for at least 5 years with no problem. What happens after that is anyone's guess.
