american axle gave everyone the option to take a buy out in 2008, also the u.a.w. assited all who wanted to go back to schoool gov. funded assistance. american axle did not hide the fact that they were going to close the detroit site, all you had to do was take the blinders off and move on as painfull as it was to do. those who stayed new they were giving up some money and extra benifits but they made that choice and did what they thought was best, so did the people who took the total buy out, we all took a chance, some got lucky and found work and some are still looking, but you keep your head up and keep trying and keep living for your children and your family. stay strong and believe and have faith in you, and you will survive this madness.

How's that union protection working out for you now?

I agree. This is a great opportunity for the union big shots to show everyone their power. Show the rank and file why they make the big bucks. After all, that paycheck the union has attached themselves to for all those years serving their own interests comes from the real man. The ones that actually produced the wealth by putting their ideas to work. Somehow these union guys think that they are something besides a human resource to complete a task towards making profit. It is the only reason a business exists. It's sole purpose, to make money. If a robot could replace the human element in the process, it will and they do.
