Endorse rhymes with divorce, what on earth are you asking these hard working employees to do? I know you slam them all the time because they work for a corporation, and then the posts scream at them that they are stupid not deserving anything, die, let your kids starve, send your jobs to India, or China , or Mexico, or Columbia University, or Venezuela, or Alaska, or Iraq, or IRAN, WHATEVER. Whatever did you do to become the CEO that sends these jobs offshore? Did your financial advisor suggest this course of action?

The economy is in the tank and Corporate America is taking advantage of it with threats of closing/relocating manufacturing facilities. Upper echelon Management are still raking in the millions in salary/bonuses/stock options, companies are still profitable, but they cry poor when it comes time to spread the wealth to the worker that has make the money for them. Regardless of ones party affiliation in politics, there are some things that are basically wrong, both morally and ethically. I feel the pain of the worker that has to swallow the bitter pill of decreased pay and benefits. Not many people can readjust their lifestyle from one day to the next with 25-50% less income starting with their next paycheck, no matter how much or how little they make today. Unionism was borne out of similar circumstances some 80 years ago, but in today's society a Union worker is looked down upon even though their negotiations over the years have brought up the standard of living for all Americans, not just for themselves. If this trend is happening at the bargaining table today, you can bet the "trickle down" effect will be felt across the board for all workers, Union and non-Union. So for those of you laughing at these workers for suffering through this strike and winding up with less on their platter in the end, YOU WILL BE NEXT, as history has proven.

The union isn't anything like they were 30 years ago. They used to actually stick up for the workers and fight for them, they cared. Instead they scared the workers into voting yes because they threatened the close the plant. Between the greedy CEO, even greedier CEO's kid, and the lazy union...the workers got sold down the river. Well, watch out America...the rest of corporate America is watching and will be following suit soon. If a union company can get wages cut in half...I'm sure the non-union companies won't be far behind.

It's the simple "law" of supply and demand. When people can not afford to buy products because their wages and benefits have been cut they can't afford to buy and they have to pay for the benefits they lost. So they spend less. To stay in business companies have to cut their costs so they lower the wages and benefits of THEIR employees.

Everybody can now watch (the damaging side of) trickle down in action now.

That is where you are wrong. Non-union companies could of cut wages to their employees at any time in the past. They were never bound by any regulations other than minimum wage. you see if non-union cut wages the workers can leave and go to another company and make the same money. so cutting wages would do nothing for the company other then loose them employees they could not replace. Name one Non union manufacturing company that has cut blue collar wages in half in the last 30 years?? We are in rough economic times right now so starting wages in unskilled labor will be lower due to the surplus of available workers. As the unemployment goes down in the future the reduction of available employees with start to move wages up. Pretty simple really. The union problem comes in because wages were pushed way above the market median income. I hope you understand that forcing wages above the median income is one of the causes of inflation. One final thought why do you always point the finger and call the CEO greedy. It is not his responsibility to make the blue collar worker rich. When you take a job the requires no formal training and you have no risk involved you do not deserve CEO wages. Some people tend to forget that it takes a lot of risk and investment to get company going and I am sure if you owned a company you would be singing a different tune. I hear you all talking get together pool your 401k money together and go for it start a business put everything on the line risk your future and everything you have. Let me know when you get that done and I am sure you will be hiring union workers at $28/hour.

You're comparing apples to pineapples there JMMYK. When was the last time GM, FORD, Chrysler, American Axle, Delphi, etc. were "mom & pop businesses? Ever been to River Rouge? These are mega corporations. Therefore all this gibber about "wages were pushed way above the market median income" is ludicrous. We're not discussing single owner manufacturing concerns here. They don't even have a place in discussion of median profits. And NOT ONE of those CEOs has invested their own money into building those companies.

You tell me of any CEO of a small manufacturing company, even one that supplies the "big three" with the parts they need for the cars that does much less wouldn't LOVE to come close to the incomes of the CEOs of the "big three" corps.

When there is a "median income" between the CEOs of the "big three" and the much smaller companies that supply the parts for the "big three" then we can rationally have that discussion. And no Johnson Controls can't be included.
