Traffic issue snarls building plan

Questions about the traffic impact a housing complex would have on a special-needs school next door led the Planning and Zoning Board to slam on the brakes Tuesday night -- even though the complex, approved two ... Full Story

Here we go again, the last time this board requested a colonial flavor to a building it was Walmart. At the same meeting they critized it as too boxy. That it didn't represent the Colonial ambiance of the Post road? What colonial ambiance? If someone can find a pattern of style on that road they are a genius. Later at a seperate meeting Rich Connine had his vision of New Orleans approved right smack in the middle of our downtown. They were interested in controling the post road but not downtown. Contraditions like this make one wonder how their decisions are made.

Be sure that you don't confuse THIS board with the PREVIOUSLY elected board. It was not THIS board, it was THAT board that approved Walmart.

I disagree, the post road has a very special New Jersey strip mall Colonial feel to it. They set the tone for the Post Road when they decided to double the Mall in size

The previous board may have set standards for how various structures should be built but ultimately it was the city planner that has signed off on all of the projects with his approval. THIS board wants colors, on the building, that will could very well not be in the best interests of the children with Autism. The owner stated, to me, that the city planner and assistant city planner said that the color they chose is what should go on the building. I feel the children with Autism's needs should supercede the color choices of the city employees!

The APPLICANT choose the colors for the building. The applicants are professionals and have a special needs child themselves. These people and their staff have done more for autistic children than anyone has dreamed possible. This school will be a model as far as I'm concerned. Seems this blogger has a personal grudge with the Planning and Zonning Staff. You don't know what you're talking about so why don't you mind your business- Perhaps "Devon Mom" should stick with the Board that she was appointed to.

Actually the applicant did NOT choose the colors! The colors were chosen by the city planner and the assistant city planner. The school owners went along with the choice because they were lead to believe they could be stalled so long that they would loose certain financial support. My information came from the school owners where did you get your information from Taxpayer?
