'Guitar Hero' Sales Illegal, Gibson Says

Gibson Guitar Corp. is suing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and five other major retailers that sell the Activision "Guitar Hero" game, claiming it violates a patent held by the company.

Gibson wasnt the maker of All guitars, such as the Les Paul, how can Gibson say that Guitar Hero be against Copy Write Laws?? A guitar is a guitar, Resophonic Slide Guitar, Parlour Guitar, Finger-style Guitar, For Gibson to say that they are going to sue companies for selling guitar hero, is like Suave sayig they are going to sue a company for selling V05 shampoos and cream rinses, Gibson is not the only people that have made Guitars. tehy need to get over them selves BIG TIME, if they wanted to do soem thing like that then they should have cornered the market, in 3 copy writes, usa and over seas.

Well actually gibson created a very obscure patent years ago that was about playing a fake instrument to replicate playing a song.

who cares gibson doesnt need anymore money they already get 1000 bucks for a mass produced guitar

shame they took this attitude ihave a collection of close to one hundred instruments including several gibsons however i cannot say that there is one piece that i would put in a bank vault

gibson is making a chess-move because their impotent product line is losing marketshare exponentially.
Companies like Taylor and CF Martin that make a quality product andwith better sound are going to completely overtake what is left of gibson.
hold onto that sg doubleneck or flying v, they'll be worth something in 20 years...when gibson is gone.
