at&t is adding 200 jobs but is also threating to fire their present employees every day every hour because of sales we're supposed to make 4 sales a mnth tv/internet/ph package. sounds easy except nt very many of there cell ph users wnt anymore service from at&t due to the lousy cell ph service they hv and the high costs doesn't help an employee met there sales goal at&t sucks as a company and employer. u may say get another job but there is no other jobs in this one horse area.

I've heard the same thing about at&t. I have a family member that works there and he hates it. Says the sales qouta is impossible and that they are on your back all the time. Too bad.

As a previous employee I have to agree with both of you but at the same time I have been unemployed for a year and worked at ATT for 2 yrs before that and at this time I kind of wish I still did. Although I have been offered jobs 45 minutes to an hour from where I live for $8-$10/hr due to scheduling and the way my husband works it's just not worth the drive. I definitely am missing the pay and the insurance but not the company and their standards and expectations.

It's easy to get your sales. All you have to do is try. Most people want to complain instead of actually trying to do their job. At least I have a job. Plus the comissions from sales is great. I made $200 last week for just TV sales. People like you on here makes me sick. Just do your job.

Oh, I forgot how stupid our union is. They tell everyone to file a grievance on everything. Even posted a sign in the center. The stewards just want off the phones. Poor excuse for a union. Dont get me wrong, its a stressful job if you allow it to be. You just got to realize at&t wireless signs your paycheck.

I think it's easy to meet sales quotas. Just do your job. I exceed mine every month & lots of other people do too. People just like to complain about their jobs and they always will. If you don't want to do the job you get paid for, find another one. Pretty simple solution. I didn't even have to use a tech guide to come up with that resolution ;)

Did you know that there is a job title for telesales that pays more on the hour. That is why the union wants you to grieve disciplines for sales. If you want to do the work of another job title and not get paid for it go ahead. But before you bash the union maybe you should go to direct tv and earn 5.00 less an hour.

First of all, the quota is easy to meet. One tv service sell per week and one internet service sell every other week. The problem is, people don't want to learn how to sell products. You have to have a personality and be nice to customers. It's really not difficult. The quota will be increasing and to stay employed, you need to figure out how to sell. At&t is a great place to work!

I believe we should thank our State Representative Jill York for bringing these jobs to the area. Without her hard work and dedication these jobs would not be reliezed. JILL for JOBS!!!

Um, Jill has nothing to do with it. Our call center is top in the country in sales. Obviously corporate is going to okay hiring for the top performing call center. She may support it, but she has nothing to do with it.

I love my job and I work out there. I get paid on time and I have great benefits. I do my job and keep my mouth shut. I do not need the union because I work for company not the union. I find my job a lot easier than my last job. I don't make as much as I did on my last job but the benefits more than make up for it. The ones who are slamming the company are those who just do not want to work and prefer to be miserable and to try and make others the same way. Misery loves company.

Quota is always easy to meet and the union is weak because they afraid to ruffle to many feathers out there. You got 3 stewards out there that are worth a damn and that is it. Also a union is only as strong as it's members. If union said we had enough with doing someone else's job for less money how many people would back them up? Very few

We are trying to help however, I can do nothing if no one comes to me or another steward. We can not stand up for you, we will stand with you but you have to come to us for us to be effective. You also have to show up for work, not lie about FMLA and do your job. You can not be rude to a customer, ignore instructions from your manager, half do your job and take FMLA and go to the beach and then expect me or any other steward to be able to do something for you. Also, wow 200 jobs. The place used to have over a 1000 employees. Sales can be the luck of the call as well. There are instances where you are not going to be able to make a sale no matter what you try, as well as times when making the offer is not appropriate. There are issues that need to be addressed with the sales quota as well as the pay issue. If you have questions see a steward! The names are posted on the Union board. Also, never, ever quit your job it is not "in your best interest".

The union? Lmao. The company can go to sakes if they want. If you don't like it quit. The union is a joke. Telling people to file grievance on all discipline. It isn't a nonprofit organization sales brings in profit. Profit equals commission. I work 40 hours a week and love my job. The reason is I do my job and then go home to my wonderful kids and beautiful wife. If I hated it I would leave. My wife went to part time at her job because I make a good living at my job. I have never even needed the union and hate it when they take my money to act like they are doing something

Union is only as strong as it's members and no where in contract does it state we are sales. We can do their job and ours. Go on construction job and see what happens when u do another crafts work..
