"Student exchanges would help correct misperceptions on both sides of the border that Mexico is dangerous and that the United States is unfriendly to Mexicans, Napolitano said."

Of course should they turn out to not be "misperceptions" ..........

I would never allow my son or daughter to venture into the land of no return ! most notoriously known for it's favorite past-time sport of kidnapping and beheadings of which is the norm on a daily basis. Cartels have transformed the country into the MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY in the world. An editor of El Diario here in El Paso, was talking to his companion and I happen to overhear their conversation in a restaurant while eating with a co-worker, he was telling his companion that he was now and then sent to the Juarez office to work and one day wondered what was happening to the doors. The doors were getting removed and were getting bullet proof panels placed on all doors !!, Heres this white guy who appears to be very pleasant and an interesting conversationalist who kinda thought it was funny as he spoke to his buddy. I thought to myself, what the hell are you doing working for this news paper for ? he could be an editor for the El Paso Times !! I guess people just think it won't happen to them ! I still wonder why the US didn't intervene years ago before it got this bad.

The U.S. has intervened. We send millions of dollars to Mexico so their army and police can train recruits for the cartels. There is even a plan to train illegal aliens in the U.S. military and grant them dual citizenship. This will alow them to demand even more money to work for the cartels.

Nice horror stories, you both.

The fact is that more US citizens live here in Mexico (almost 1 million) than in the whole Western Europe, for what I know.

Just go to Google, and type "Expatriates in Mexico", and tell me what you see.

That you both don't ever come to Mexico, or convince your close Friends and relatives never to come, is indifferent to us.

But I believe that, besides the usual interchange in fórums like this, some facts have to be given, from time to time.

Have a nice day.

Yes, but when americans move to mexico they either have a secured job or are retired, which means Mexico needs them way more than they need Mexico.

The key here is that these Americans live "legally" in mexihole. Their rights are severely restricted: they can't vote, they can't meddle in mexican politics, can't own certain properties, etc.

you are right Wild, and on the other hand here illegals FORCE THEIR WAY IN to our cities and DEMAND HUMANE & RESPECTFUL treatment! jobs, medical treatment and amnesty ! how do you like that ? OH AND THEY VOTE !! illegally also of course and if caught expect us to turn the other way and forgive and forget. THE AUDACITY !! then they wonder why we loathe them and their anchors' existence !
