The city of Hurricane and the Putnam County Health Department shut down two motels Tuesday after the owner failed to clean up "absolutely filthy" conditions, Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards said Tuesday.

I think there were safety issues with the
electrical. Also bedbugs. Seems like when you
have rooms rented on a monthly basis
and not an actual "hotel" you have more crime.

Here's an idea. Tear them down and put about 4 to 5 nice sit down restaurants there. There's absolutely no place in the Hurricane that serves steak.

I worked at this place when I moved to Hurricane before I knew any better. Wasn't alot of crime just truck drivers, and no tell motel people. I think there was drug activity but it was just a skanky place. Issued a lot of refunds... The guy is about money - he could care less about the appearance.
