So far, this is how we rank.

Corruption???
Tonga is very very very corrupted in comparison to the U.S.A, Aust, NZ.

Economy???
We are a joke, compared to U.S.A, Aust, NZ.

Those are just facts we should consider as we look at democracy and Monarchy/dictatorship.

Lets just say that many people in Tonga are corrupt and even if we adopt democracy Tongans will always be Tongan.

I am not belittling Tongans but trying to remind you that our to'onga fakatonga etc feveitokai 'aki and tauhi va will need to be wiped out so democracy can survive.

Are we really asking for something we should not rush?

Are we really ready to let a very few elite decide on our land?

Will we not become more selfish and fend for ourselves instead of the rest of our families?

To become democratic will result in another group of elites that will dictate our everyday lives.

The majority will never be always right!

Right now in Tonga, the elite few is ruling.

With Democracy, the majority of people will rule. Majority means many. Accountability, Transparency, Good Governance are factors that will be enhanced if we go democratic.

Democracy does not stop our people from USA, Aust, NZ from helping their families here in Tonga. Selfishness is not the result of democracy. Selfishness is the result of a dead conscience.

The majority is better than the corrupted few.

Democracy gives us a fair playing field. Fair for all. Those who will work hard and strive will reap the reward. Those who will not try will never win a thing. The main thing is "fair playing field".

Michael Jordan said. "you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk". After that, he went and walked it.

PM, Feleti Sevele, Ministers, Fineasi Funaki, Peauafi Haukinima, and others, can sure talk alot. But when it came to walking (action), it is what we call, "smoke but no fire". In Tongan, Posiposii. Such players will loose the game.
