ANSYS: interpretation of strain energy (SENE) in harmonic analysis

I've been trying to conduct harmonic analysis of a force-induced beam (see the attachment) and use SENE (strain energy) parameter for post-processing purposes in order to verify which frequency is the most energetic one for this beam.
As a result of such analysis in ANSYS, for each frequency in considered range, two sets of results are produced: real (RE) and imaginary (IM). Each of those contains such values as stresses, displacements and also it's possible to extract SENE using ETABLE command. As shown in the attached chart interpretation of SENE attained from RE and IM part of the results separately is not so convenient as the trends of those are not corresponding and one can't clearly identify the most energetic frequencies ..
I intentionally added "SENE SRSS" (square root of sum of squares of SENE from RE and IM part of results) line in this chart, but here comes the question:
Is it mathematically justified to treat strain energy which is a scalar with SRSS operation which is used to find an amplitude of vectors? If not, how can I use SENE RE and SENE IM in order to clearly identify the most energetic frequencies in harmonic analysis?
