hi everyone,
Ive been trying for 3 weeks to install ansys 12.1 x64, 13 x64 and 13 x86 on my windows 7 64 bits and it keeps giving me the same error.

The error is shown when I start the license wizard and it tries to "opening the Ansys, Inc. License Manager: the service is deactivated or doesnt have any relational processes"

(well, the error message is in portuguese so I freely translated it, Its really close to the true error)

Ive got a working license file but this f****** license manager is killing me...

thx for ur attention and I hope u can help me

Hi, I have similar problem with ansys and as well win 7 64b

full error message
"ERROR: The following problem was encountered while attempting
to retrieve the user preferences license lists:

ERROR: Unable to retrieve licensed site preference information.
The specified license path:
ANSYSLI_SERVERS: 2325@MY_HOST_NAME
FLEXlm Servers: 1055@MY_HOST_NAME
does not have any licenses for any product. Please make sure
the license server has been started correctly."

If someone found solution for that, I'll be very gratefull

ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE = 1055 @ host
donde host es el nombre de su equipo

Haga clic en Aceptar y disfrutar de Ansys

buena suerte

Hola Julio:

Instale el Ansys 13, pero tengo problemas con la licencia, cuando inicio el ansys me sale el siguiente mensaje:

Could not connect to any license server.
The server is down or is not responsive.
ANSYSLI_SERVERS: 2325@JorgeVasquez-PC
FLEXlm Servers: 1055@JorgeVasquez-PC

Puedes enviarme el procedimiento detallado a mi correo, jvasquezi@yahoo.com

hi, i might could help,if you are using the cracked version, maybe the license file has the wrong name of your computer. these things might help:
1st, u should open/ install any ansys thing with "open as administrator".

2nd, when installing ansys lic-man (license manager), u will be asked to fill the name of your host server, fill it with your computer's name

3rd, when generating a license, dont forget to use "open as administrator", and check inside the license file that the server's name is your computer's name. the first line should be like this

--SERVER "your computer's name" "computer's id" 1055 VENDOR...(etc)--

the "computer's id" part is auto filled when generating the license file..

i hope that your ansys could work..

Go to Start Menu\Programs\ANSYS, Inc. License Manager > Right click on "Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility" and click on "run as administrator".
click on stop the Ansys Inc License manager and wait for 2 or 3 minutes.
A message will appear that the License manager stopped successfully.
After that click on " Start he Ansys Inc License manager" and again wait for 2 or 3 minutes and message will appear about starting the license manager. exit the license manager utility and go to start menu and start Ansys. this time it should run fine. Enjoy

Hi
thank you very much for replying, however, this was not the problem,
I figured that license manager is incompatible with win7 ultimate version, so I've installed the win7 professional and the licmanager worked fine, although the port 1055 of FLEXlm is already in use and now I'm working to solve this, I've tried to change it but it was unsuccessful.

Anyway, thanks for replying!
if I can solve it or help anyone here I'll let u guys know.

Regenerate the license file using APCalc and paste it in the installation directory C:\Programfiles\AnsysInc\Share dFiles\ Licensing\. Run the license manager again.. my problem was solved when i did that..

Well, I met this strange error too. It looks like the process "winhostld.exe" has been blocked or something. Just as ajay said, put the license.dat manually to the directory "c:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\" and click "Start the ANSYS, Inc. License Manager" in the Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility， everything will be solved.
