How will this affect the Cubs? Can they still get Jake Peavy?

Once again, the lawyers get "paid" and those of us who were really affected by the theft get screwed.

The same thing happened with the Ford deal, with the HP deal.... us consumers are the main victims or affected ones and lawyers get millions...

I can't believe I trusted that "Law & Order" guy to protect my private information. Maybe they should hire Dog the Bounty Hunter as a spokesman. Does anyone really think big corporations care about their clients' personal info if they can wriggle out of true liability in the courts?

Xanth: see no, you don't even get free credit monitoring! TD Ameritrade is too cheap to even offer that. The only reason the settlement got approved at all is that Scott Kamber threatened me. I can't believe the judge is considering letting him get away with that!
See my blog for more info: http://caringaboutsecurity.wordpress.com Sorry, Chicago, I tried. Haven't stopped yet. BTW, KamberEdelson is in Chicago.

Don't give up yet. Please consider objecting or opting out if you think the settlement is unfair.
If enough (400 people - that's about .01%), object, or opt out, the the judge won't be able to approve the settlement.

Thanks for the reviews.:-)

We successfully got the settlement thrown out. Negotiating a new settlement now. Sorry, I can't post any negotiation details here or on my blog; court rule require participants only discuss the details among folks involved in the litigation, but I can say I'm struggling mightily for a fair settlement.

I wonder what Sam Waterston's (the Law and Order guy's) contract looks like and if he's aware of this fiasco. I should ask an acquaintance who has worked with him.
