Has anyone ever had success with using the parallel port Byteblaster programming cable with a USB to Parallel adapter cable? Im using the Quartus 11 web based IDE.

I am trying to do so. But it seems that the Byteblaster driver cannot be recognized for the usb2paralel cable.

You can try - it is capable of running SVF files and can be used to configure your FPGA / CPLD chip. According to it is compatible with ByteBlaster!

I made it working through PCMCIA to Parallel adapter SPP-100G made by Quantech. If you want it work on Laptop without parallel port, set it to port address 0x400 (not usual 0x378). It works like a charm with Altera Quartus programmer.
Normal USB to parallel adapters only emulates LPT port to use by Windows drivers. It won't work with ByteBlaster driver.
