Flight 422 Las Vegas to Rockford March 10, 2013

This was my first experience traveling on Allegiant. I had chosen Allegiant as they are one of 2 airlines that travel out of the small airport near my home. Last year we traveled on Frontier and were disappointed that our flights were delayed coming and going causing us to miss our connections. I chose this year to book on Allegiant as you had direct flights and I was quite excited. Our flight into Las Vegas on the 7th was a little late but we arrived pretty much on schedule. I can't really complain but I have nothing to speak highly of on that flight either. However, much to my dismay the return was not at all what I anticipated. Prior to boarding we were made aware that there was bad weather in the Rockford area and there was a slight possibility that we would not be able to land as scheduled and that we would be redirected to land at the South Bend Airport. I wasn't super excited about this prospect but I understand and there is nothing that can be done about bad weather. However, the flight experience from the get go was absolutely horrible. The flight crew was a group of the four rudest flight attendants I have ever experienced in my life. I travel quite frequently and have never experienced this. Basically this flight was there social hour. They paid very little attention to the passengers at all. They sat and chatted amongst themselves as if this was their private flight and none of the passengers were of any concern to them at all. This was very disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. I was completely appalled. We of course were redirected and the pilot safely landed in South Bend. However, the South Bend Airport closes early so we sat for quite awhile without getting any information and with no food or drink. Not one of the flight crew came and made sure we were at least comfortable. After hours of waiting we were finally told that our flight would be moved to 1:00 pm on Monday. They gave out “discount” coupons for hotels (of which there was not one hotel that gave this discount to any of the passengers. We were left on our own to find transportation to any hotel at our cost (even though we were told we would get a shuttle bus). We were left in the airport a group of very disgruntled confused group with no direction in any way from anyone at Allegiant. Some passengers were lucky enough to have gotten one of the few rental cars available at the airport prior to the final announcement that we would not take back off again that night and drove home. The majority that had waited for the announcement incurred expenses for hotels, cabs, busses, etc. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have never heard of a group of passengers to be left to them to figure out their options with no direction, no reimbursement and no help. I would never travel Allegiant again. I am posting this on any message board I can find and will make sure to warm everyone I know of what poor service Allegiant has to offer. I am quite sure you will be hearing from many other passengers on this flight.
