The gun debate is a good (and necessary) one. But have it somewhere else. Prayers for the family of these children.

Thats because you live in a small world. Gun violence including accidents in this corrupt country outnumber any other developed nation on earth. Not an opinion just facts which you gun cowboys convienently choose to ignore so you can live in the wild west. Who was your hero? Roy Rodgers? or maybe Jed Clampet?

I prefer to have my 2A rights without being infringed upon by you or the gub'ment, and I'm not concerned about the gun voiolence rate (which would be lower if we locked up or executed violent criminals)...you don't like it, there are plenty of countries that don't have guns.

Side note: I find it funny how the media goes crazy with this administration over infringement on 1A, but barely a blip about government infringement on 2A...hhmmmm.

Please share details of the government infringing on your second amendment rights. I am pretty sure you buy the same guns today that you could in 2007.

Thinking free or free from thinking? Liberty and freedom come with risks. I served 22 years in the military sworn to protect the constitution of the U.S. I actively supported your right to free speech when everyone knows that is far more dangerous when practiced with a low IQ or a disolusioned political opinion than firearms will ever be. All I ask is that you too respect my right to bear arms and defend my life, family, property etc. Gun accidents like care accidents happen because people are stupid and make mistakes. however the safety record for guns in this country is miraculous when compared to other dangerous items, especially the automobile and that isn't even protected by the Constitution. By all means, don't own a firearm or use one. I can respect that. But do think for a minute you will ever be successful in disarming this nation. Those of us who know history know the folly of this, and will never let it stand. As for the point of this article, I don't know what happened, so I have no opinion. I do agree that a 13 year old should NEVER has access to a firearm, but, mistakes do happen and a little girl is dead because of it. Tragic, yes, but many will die from other than gun related accidents just today and we don't want someone in jail for that. Please get real.

Just sayin'

I took the same oath but I was young and naive. We now live under a repressive gubment who could really care less about gun rights but heaven forbid a group should exercise freedom of speech and decent. Hence the militarization of police. You really think the population has the ability now to revolt against a tyrannical gubment? The gun question is a joke to congress, their philosophy is let the unwashed masses kill themselves, who cares? let those lobbyists rule. Gun crime in this country is abhorrent, but we let it happen in the name of freedom. Tell that to the parents.

Not in MD, NY, DC, CA, etc...etc. need more examples? How about New Orleans after hurricane Katrina? Keep going? Local, State and Federal levels of gubment actively try and do infringe on 2A daily.
