" lenders who don't act in their clients' best interests."

I suppose that "client" may be the correct wording but to me it means that as a "client" the lender is working for my benefit and best interests. I know of no "lender" with that view.

In my business dealings I have always viewed the relationship between lender and borrower as adversarial. The lender is certainly not there to act in "my best interests". He is there to make money; "not that there is anything wrong with that". My view of lender/borrower relationship has always served me well. Borrower Beware.

"Legislators were able to override Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine's veto to pass a law that makes it easier to get a concealed weapons permit. Gun owners will now be able to get a license by taking online or video classes."

So you no longer have to display competence with the gun? Does it make sense to allow a person to carry concealed without proving in person that they can actually shoot straight? What about getting a drivers license, will you be able to get one of those without proving you can actually drive?

I don't agree with much of what Tim Kaine does or says, but I think this loosens the rules way too much!

I'm inclined to agree, but then again I haven't seen what sort of online training they are talking about, is there more to this that what is being reported? Does seem reasonable to me however that a CCW applicant should have to take a basic course in safe gun handling, etc. as they always have in the past, such as the courses taught at Rivanna.(Even though being prior military qualifies as training and I know plenty of prior military who don't know diddly about carrying a concealed weapon safely.) I served for 8 years and the only time I handled a weapon was in basic training.

I took the course at Rivanna and they made sure the carrier knew what they were doing and that the carrier could actually hit a target! I think observation and hands on training is key!
