The Trump name will only bring buyers who 1) aren't local because we all know Kluge's wines were terrible and overpriced (and most of us hated her as much as many people hate Trump) and 2) don't care about quality wine as much as they do about buying a celebrity wine. Kluge tried to put VA wine on the map and only put herself on the map; she regularly showed up in wine news in my Food & Wine mag and even international travel mags. I am amazed that the Trump name makes anyone want to buy anything...it makes me want to stay away. And really, she did such a great job running the winery under her name you're going to trust her with this one? The one thing people were excited about with someone else buying the winery is that there might finally be a decent boss to work for. The media can trumpet this all they want but we locals know the truth. The fame should go to the wineries here that are well-established and SUCCESSFUL because their wines are spectacular. Not because a celebrity puts his name on them. We don't need you here, Trump.

If you are buying a bottle of wine just because Trump's name is on it, you might as well buy boxed wine because you clearly don't care about the wine itself. You just care about the brand. You're exactly the schmo Trump is hoping to sell to, and marketing professionals like me understand that marketing isn't just the 4 Ps, it's about creating a quality experience for the customer beyond just getting them to take home that first bottle. The 4 Ps are the very basics, my friend.

Schmo? Have you tasted any of the wines or are you talking outta your butt once again. For the Trump fan it is a given they will favor the wine. You appear too dense to comprehend that. As for the 4 P's they are basic BUT kluge obviously wasn't paying attention the the P for PRICE which led to her downfall. Get it or did i go too fast for you?

I just do not understand why Trump would put that woman in charge of the business. She spends money money like it's alimony (oh, wait) and has no concept of business, otherwise she wouldn't have gone from a $100 million home to a $500k home. Just saying, don't put the fox in charge of the chicken house.

More overpriced wine for the smug liberals who think they ARE somebody in this wannabe town.

This B.S. so dominated the news last night that I had to turn it off. First thing this morning, they were still beating that dead horse. I only hope they hire LOCAL workers -- AMERICAN workers who so desperately need jobs. Otherwise, I could CARE LESS about this. And, yes, it probably IS just over-priced dish water for the smug liberals in this burg.

You are indeed the perfect customer for him. And that is exactly what I said...if you can't interpret that my comments meant that Trump fans are the primary market for his wine, you shouldn't be calling other people dense. And of course I've tried the wine. The only one that was any good was the sparkling wine. The rest was overpriced crap.

Wow. Three Trump headlines in 3 days on NBC29. What a splash! Welcome to blowhard Trump and his media machine, in-your-face wealth and overpriced wines.

Goodness some of you are so negative. I am glad Trump is taking a risk and I wish him well as it will be good for Virginia. What is your problem?

Trump is taking no risk at all. In fact unless they change the tax code we're all be paying for his mad dog. He could care less about the wine or Kluge, just give me my tax credits.

Whether or not you choose to except it but we're paying the bill for this venture, if you want some of they're wine it should be free.

Even I can't blow that much hot air as Trump does but the real reasons are, I don't tell lies, I don't debase myself by being in the presents of a politician, left or right, and I don't need money to validate my own existence. I'm quite sure there are many who see Trump as some kind of great figure. I see him as just another king without any clothes. A capitalist fraud with no integrity.
