Maybe when Dumler's mother turns against him, he'll begin to see the light. How much more embarrassment can you take, Chris? It's time. It's past time.

Does he have a mother? father? They have been absent from Dumler's campaign, election and this. What does that tell you?

True, though I think I recall seeing a small dollar ($250 or $500???) contribution to his campaign from a Dumler in Georgia. I'm sure his parents are terribly embarrassed.

I'm glad that Mr. Toscano also believes that Dumler should resign. Unfortunately, Dumler is only interested in himself and won't listen to any of his commrades. I would encourage everyone to listen to Coy Barefoot's interview with Dumler. Coy hammered him and rightfully so.

Here's the link where you can listen to the Dumler interview by Coy Barefoot on WINA Radio: http://www.wina.com/play_window.php...

Kudos to Coy Barefoot and Newsradio 1070 WINA for having the guts to grill this slimeball unlike the whimps at NBC 29 and the Newsplex.

Listeners are encouraged to take the time to listen to Coy Barefoot's interview with Chris Dumler. While careful and respectful in his tone, Coy pointed well to the issues inherent in Dumler's current choice to remain on the BOD.

What is most disturbing to this particular listener is Dumler's repeated characterization of his criminal behavior as little more than a "lapse of judgment", an "error", "discourteous", and that he simply "acted inappropriately".

To commit sexual battery against another is more than a mere "lapse of judgment", an "error", "discourteous", or "acting inappropriately".

Thanks for posting the link to the interview. I agree that Coy Barefoot did a remarkable job pushing for answers. Dumler's performance was as expected, political doublespeak, and he should apply for WH press secretary if Jay Carney ever resigns. What a Messiah complex this man has! No one could represent Scottsville the way he does, he is indispensible and irreplaceable, so of course he wouldn't even think of resigning because the citizens of that district need HIM, and only HIM, to represent them, even if they are too dumb to know it.
He just keeps digging his own hole deeper every time he speaks or shows his face in public. The citizen's outcry for him to resign is not about conservatives trying to tip the political balance of the BOS. It is not about how the uproar interferes with the function of the BOS. It is all about a man who has committed a sexual offense, violating a woman, and that his admitted behavior makes him unfit for any office. No more, no less. Voters, please don't let him try to distract you from the real issue at hand by claiming this is about politics. We don't want a sexual batterer serving as a leader of our county.

My Problem is that local rightwingers Joe Thomas and the other dude with the long hair - scum mouth - They would defend all those on republicanoffenders.com
which means for them we can't trust anything they say because it is all about politics and not the people and community.

This is certainly true.Democrats have come out on the side of him stepping down. If it was a Republican, they ( and especially the local rightwing wacko radio talking heads ) would support him all the way. It is so ironic the the right spewed the idea of Country First when it so obvious that they are Party First.

Can't help but wonder if Dumba** happened to be on the school board if the public perception would be different!! Definitely hope so!!! At any rate, he is certainly overbearing and self absorbed and cares only for himself! He was charged with rape, no matter what it is now being called. The creep is serving jail time!! What an embarrassment to Albemarle County! Republican, Democrat, Independent-no matter-he should step down yesterday!! I feel quite certain that the fine citizens of Scottsville would NOT have elected him had they known he was less than he presented himself to be!! He and his smirk have gotta go!!!

Thank you, Mr. Toscano. I know you side with the women on this issue, and for the betterment of the whole county too. I hope that the Democratic Party leadership follows your call for Dumler's resignation. Dumler is still saying he'll stay in office, so on Wednesday, the Board of Supervisors has another meeting, this time at 9:00 a.m. Please come. Please, those of you who have not attended before, please come and ask Dumler in person to resign.

Pope and Patriot - a.k.a. Dumler & Neff - what are you two doing up in Madison tonight? Other than trying to change the subject and drowning your sorrows.. Sod off!

Did you listen to the Coy Barefoot radio interview earlier? The pain expressed by his victim was palpable. And how the victim and her sister have been a lifelong democrats and is so sickened by how the Democratic party of Albemarle has defended Dumler?! Victim especailly lambasts Cynthia Neff. "Party of Women" indeed/sarc Nobody can listen unmoved to the victim and her sister discuss what happened and the aftermath without having a heart of stone.

Patriot. Dear. "Democrats have come out on the side of him stepping down." REALLY? You are kidding, right? SOME democrats have - but far, far too late for their demands to appear to be anything other than politically self-serving. Like true politicians, they waited to see which way the winds of popular opinion were blowing before they turned on one of their own. Everyone is SO excited that they have "stood up for what is right" - my questions is what the heck took them so long? WHY is there not a unanimous vote by the board asking him to step down? Oh, THAT's right - it is because the democrats on the board voted AGAINST asking him to step down. It was not until there was an overwhelming public outcry that key democrats finally reached the conclusion that he was not a suitable public servant - and that only because he is a "distraction" - NOT because he pleaded guilty to a horrible, violent crime against a woman. This life-long democrat is horrified and terribly disappointed in "my" party. Funny, it doesn't feel very much like "my" party, any more.

@Agnes- you are so right!
NOW, weeks later after the public outcry, SOME of his fellow Dems are calling for him to step down so the Board can function, but only after the public has said that we will remember Mallek's and Rooker's stand on this at the polls. If the public wasn't so vocal at BOS meetings, would they be calling for his resignation based on his conviction for a sexual offense? based on not wanting a jailbird as a county leader? based on their support of a woman's right to determine when and how she engages in sexual acts?
Dumler's arrogance continues to amaze me. His fellow DEMs continue to point out that there is no provision in the law requiring him to resign. There shouldn't NEED to be a law against having a criminal on the BOS! Anyone convicted of a sexual offense should be scorned and publicly humiliated to the point that they would leave town forever and not even consider holding an office.
