Perhaps oneworld needs a merger with SkyTeam to allow both to effectively compete with Star
#3 Dec 20, 2011
Star rejected Air India's application to the alliance this summer due to a number of issues. Computer integration, safety and service are some of the factors that the alliance looks at although no one can say exactly what issue(s) triggered the rejection.
Mexicana left Star for OneWorld in recent years and they completley shut down. Kingfisher hasn't made a profit since they began service and yet they have A380s on order.
A rather large percentage of the OneWorld partners seem to have a lot of serious issues including financial, and labor problems. OneWorld might want to consider raising their standards just a bit if they want to compete down the road. The weakest players will drag down the rest of them by association.
