I see the company being about 1/2 it's current size by time the new name goes into effect. Lots of combining branches and getting out of the rural markets all together.

Guess it's a good think you aren't in charge then our rural markets are normally our most profitable. There is no way they cut the company size in 1/2 from what it is now simply will not happen. BTW it's one word Springleaf

What makes you think Fortress won't liquidate the company in order to build their capital? Look at everything else Fortress has touched. Not pretty. The rural offices make profit, but have NO growth and without growth they will slowing run out of new customers. Look at the branches that have been closed already and how many were rural? It's going to happen.

How can you say if someone gets laid off "good for you and the company I guess". Are you an idiot or what? It's Christmas and anyone losing their job is hard enough to handle, but at the holidays it sucks. Oh yeah Merry Christmas Honey here's your card and oh yeah I lost my job today. Good for me???

Interesting new name and right after Fortress renames AGF. Do a google search under Spring leaf and you find some interesting things but nothing about AGF? Makes a person wonder what's going on in Evansville these days. Rick and Brad on some beach enjoying the weather on their severance pay package.

Rural markets have the most loyal customers and most of them actually pay their bills so they have the lowest DQ. If they did that, the company would deserve to fail for being so stupid.

To late they are already closing them. Loyal customers, good dq, profit, but no new customers is the reason I was told.

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg)-- Citigroup Inc. picked OneMain Financial as the new name for its CitiFinancial consumer-finance business, under a plan to prepare the unit for sale and sever its marketing ties to the parent company.

The new name is being announced to the Baltimore-based unit’s 7,000 U.S. employees today, CitiFinancial Chief Executive Officer Mary McDowell said in an interview. The company aims to change the name on signs by July 2011 at the unit’s 1,300 branches.

“We’re located throughout the U.S., and we’re on a lot of different Main Streets, but we really mean it to be a nod to one main purpose for our customers,” McDowell said.“Hopefully we’re their one main source for lending.” She declined to disclose the cost of the rebranding.

A new logo features the OneMain name written in a “friendly and approachable” font that’s “probably a little less corporate than what you typically see at other financial institutions,” McDowell said.

The new symbol consists of five red and blue houses arranged with their rooftops pointing inward to form a white star. The color scheme is “a modern and patriotic nod to the American flag,” McDowell said.

I can't wait to see what our company does to compete with this. I also want to know if i'm going to still be able to yell at delinquent customers or if its going to be all rainbows and sunshine. I'm already noticing a difference in the way our ADO and DO are talking to us. Alot of thank you's and great work being thrown around.

I went on-line to see if it was true...I couldn't find anything stating that Fortress bought Citifinancial. Citigroup is selling it off, but so far no takers from what I could find.

All the complaining and whining about working for the company I figured it would be a blessing to some to get laid off....they apparently do not have the guts to quit and do look on their own...so thsy just sit and complain and probably do a half ass job....so YES good for them and the company no matter what time of year it is....

Sounds like you have lost the ability to properly lead and motivate workers.

In the best interests of the company, I must ask for your resignation. As for a future career direction, I recommend you pursue a job in custodial services, since you sound like a grumpy old janitor. However, you should forever be banned from holding a management position again.

Happy Holidays and Best of Luck !!

P.S. As you are leaving, please know that you are eligible for a revolving line of credit at usual credit card rates to hold you over until you start your new career. Examples of acceptable collateral would be a house or car with no outstanding liens against them.
