To the first three nitwits, fires can easily start in a garbage can with construction debris. This one had wood shavings, carpeting, and probably oil soaked rags, which can indeed cause spontanious combustion.

An insurance job? Are you for real? What were they looking to get, new sideing? This garbage can was OUTSIDE next to the garage.

Next time try reading the whole article before resisting the urge to share your ignorance.

To the gentelmen who put out the fire, you are all heros. This situation could have turn real ugly real fast. Thank god no one was hurt. To those of you so quick to accuse them of an insurance job, do you really think they would burn down a house that's been in the family for so many years, sentimental value.

If you read MY post you would not see any message of an insurance scam. I asked a question which you have not answered.

Now that I have my degree, let me comment on a fasinating article I came across this evening.

This obviously seems like a wonderful couple who are just trying to launch their new marriage together. It is just a noble thing that needed to be recognized for all to see. What great neighbors they have.

"IT SOUNDS LIKE AN INSURANCE JOB TO ME. "

You are a moron! Why would someone burn down their grandma's house by setting a garbage can on fire OUTSIDE THE HOUSE!?!

I read this article today and smiled as you realise everyday common people help their friends and neighbors in times of trouble. My students Dr. Brutes and Dr. Dublin (who just commented in this forum)actually had tears in their eyes when we met this morning in the park. A young couple starting out trying to make ends meet, first losing a job and then a mortgage company going belly up, when everything seems to be going wrong they suddenly avert tragedy by the heroic action of neighbors. We all agree it's not always better being the lead dog in a parade, however who wants to always be the last dog. Philosophical yes, but nothing could be more appropriate then that.

That is what the real America is about. Not the crap filled GOVT and Corporations. This is what will get America through. Not the Turd leaders and congress we have now. Salute.
