How do Republicans defend torture, wars and more wars?
For the $500,000,000,000.00*(five hundred billion dollars) that we have spent in Iraq:
...we could have built and strengthened a lot of levies, which also would have created good construction jobs
...we could have built a much better set of fences to stop illegal immigration (Bush has done nearly nothing because his rich corporate buddies want lots of very cheap labor to be available)
...we could have worked to improve America... our schools, bridges, highways, water treatment plants, produce inspections facilities, ethanol production facilities, etc.
...we could have improved the way foreign products are checked out before going on our shelves (to prevent things like tainted pet food and lead in kid’s toys)
Bush/McCain-style Republican policies have FAILED to delivery anything but pain to average Americans. Pain at the gas pump. Pain at the supermarket checkout. Pain as the tax bill for Bush’s wars are coming due.
Republicans are the party that says torture isn’t really torture, and they’re “torturing” average Americans. A simple example: their policies have led to CEOs receiving huge pay raises, bonuses and severance packages while average people are paying $4/gallon or more for gas.
While you’re paying $4 plus per gallon, Bush, McCain and other FAT-CATS are living better than ever before.
Let’s vote the big oil companies and the Republicans OUT in November.
... Note: 68 million acres of oil-rich areas are under lease from the U.S. to oil companies.
... These areas remain UNEXPLORED! So, new offshore drilling is simply political
... pandering! Here’s the story: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/18/bush.o...
And, let’s vote against the use of electric shocks... yes... we’ve been using electric shocks, on prisoners who haven’t even been charged with crimes. It’s hard to believe that people calling themselves Americans have done this... but they have!
* Probably a low estimate. Some estimates of what the Bush/McCain Iraq war have cost and will cost (when including the treatment of soldiers back home and years of lost productivity for our country) are as high as $3,000,000,000,000 (three TRILLION dollars).
And, after preaching to the American people about “family values”, people like Larry Craig and Mark Foley have made a laughing stock of the Republican party... Remember the bathroom stall foot-tapping and sending sexual emails to underage congressional “pages”? What a farce the GOP is.
And Republicans are still sending me mailers asking for money! FAT CHANCE!
