No city should be in the electric power business. Let it be run by private companies. There's a conservative position for you.

I thought the only time the City of Columbus, Ohio was involved with electric generation and distribution was when it had the Cash Burning Power Plant?

Whether cities should or shouldn't is another agruement. Right now some of the cities that are in municipal utilities need those funds to maintain city administration and operation, without the crutch of utility money they would collapse. Sterling, are you turning a little conservative on us?

I am conservative on some things, but that doesn't matter to a rabid conservatard ideologue. If a person is liberal on 1 thing out of 100, to the rabid ideologue that person is no different than a flaming Communist. So I just usually say I'm a liberal. Saves time and gives y'all someone to flog out here.

Beware of the Smart grid, they are experimenting with in California. People are becoming sick. The meter has a grid lock on it also, power can be shut off at anytime. California are giving people the option to have old grid put back on, with a cost. This takes away from your civil rights. People do your homework. This is very Unconstitutional, invasion of rights.

It is not a right to have electricity. It is a service provided to you by a company that generates power. Why does it matter whether they shut it off by cutting the wires at the pole or doing it remotely via a grid smart meter?
