Competition is not always better. That is a foolish statement. Go talk to someone who worked at Enron, an energy industry giant. Or worldcom, or lehman brothers, or bear stearns.
plus, when your electric company or water company tells you to go screw off, what recourse will you have? At least if it gets to the point of complaining to the mayor or council, something will get done. Not so with a private company with offices in Bangladesh.
Some good thoughts here. and now guv johhny wants to de-empahisize the stature of the state Consumer's Council.
