High court shields AEP from state suits over emissions

The U.S. Supreme Court handed American Electric Power a victory yesterday when it ruled that states cannot go to federal court to force power companies to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases believed to cause global warming. Full Story

Alright USEPA, let's get on with it. The Supremes (conservative lot that they are) have directed your agency - twice now - to take action. Finalize the rules and let's move on to the next problem.

Why doesn't AEP simply buy us all out like it did with the city of Cheshire, Ohio?
Global warming, climate change, whatever you want to call it is a bunch of baloney anyways.

Fellowship archives state that Vereide wanted his movement to “carry out its objective through personal, trusting, informal, unpublicized contact between people.” Vereide’s establishment of his Prayer Breakfast Movement for anti-Socialist and anti-International Workers of the World (IWW or “Wobblies”) Seattle businessmen in 1935 coincided with the establishment of another pro-Nazi German organization in the United States, the German-American Bund. Vereide saw his prayer movement replacing labor unions.
http://www.insider-magazine.com/christianmafi ... It's a real shame that most of us won't take the time to read this new article because they've read other Madsen stuff that was a little over the top, didn't get everything just right or didn't pan out or go anywhere. Those of us who have read it can (and do) say that this time Madsen has done the most detailed, comprehensive and exhaustive (long) study of the most evil, despicable criminal enterprise ever to exist in this country.
He starts in 1935 and details the nazi beginings and growth over the years of " The Fellowship", This Evil thing that we all are fighting.
What he has written this time IS the RICO case we've all been praying for. He exposes every one of these slimy **** who have taken complete control of our country. It is our first chance to see the totality, the macrocosm of this evil thing instead of just seeing and exhausting ourselves fighting a small piece of it.
The part where he describes Chimpy's missing Alabama National Guard time actually being spent in a San Diego Drug and Alcohol Rehab and doing community service at the Texas PuLL organization and Poppy's cover up I'm sure can be proven somehow. It really IS the noose we've been searching for to Skin the Chimp.
Take a look at the discussion thread and see what those of us who HAVE read it have to say

AEP already bought the governor, who designated a scuba diver for EPA director. In Ohio, CO2 emission limitations and cap and trade will be "sleeping with the fishes" in Lake Erie. The Division of Surface Water can send monitoring equipment up to see if they can find any directives from Region V.

Are we surprised at the GOP-packed courts voting for BIG BUSINESS?

Are we surprised that the GOP legislators block confirmation of Democratic nominees for the Courts?

DO YA'LL THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE?

My goodness, NO... just vote for the repubs without thinking.

The U.S. Supreme Court reconfirms their 2007 opinion that EPA has the right & power to regulate GHGs.
In doing so, the judges have tried to forfeit their own right to comment on science. One U.S. Supreme Court Judge, long ago, stated his INABILITY TO MAKE RULES ON CUTTING EDGE SCIENCE.

In effect, as one commentator said, they have stated Federal judges are not well positioned to devise rules for greenhouse-gas emissions, given the complexity of the problem and its deep interrelation with other policy issues.

However, tho the Judges understand their lack of science & math background, that leaves other persons in gov't, who have no regards to THEIR OWN LACK, to influence EPA, get rid of EPA, or control EPA.

If those in gov't continue their egotistical bent to 'control science' that they do NOT understand, the U.S. Supreme Court will have to revisit this issue.

Better to have the stupid 'cap and trade stuff' sleeping with the fishes than into my wallet. Global warming is junk science. It would be cheaper and healthier for AEP and other power cos. to give everyone A/C units, with energy credits, for using them instead of trying to adopt more junk science based on inaccurate data.

By the way, since when does the OEPA division of surface water or anyone else in ohio have continuous monitoring equipment for water, let alone posses primary standards for traceability sake so that the data can be quality assured and quality controlled to stand up in litigation?

Al Gore IMO is all wrong about global warming..... He may have created the internet (also in his mind) but polar bears are thriving too.

My bad, word is that the Director is mandating that the agency cleanup a very large baglog of permit applications. Bad humor on my part, Ohio EPA operates continuous air pollution monitors in non-attainment counties. Also it's a good bet that large drinking water supply intakes from Lake Erie might have some continuous water quality monitoring. Ohio EPA and it's director have 100% dedication.

I intimately know that most Ohio EPA employees are dedicated to protecting the environment and the health and safety of the citizens of Ohio; the new director, in my opinion, though has yet to prove the same.

BTW: the Ohio EPA and nine local air agencies operate both continuous and intermittent air quality monitoring equipment for criteria and toxic pollutants in most of the 88 Ohio counties; not just non-attainment ones.

Most of these instruments report air quality data to a central computer on a near real-time basis. Ohio's air quality network size (no. of instruments and sampling rate) might be the largest in the nation.
