If this idea held any benefits for the voters in Columbus, why would Coleman's appointee Arsh feel the need to wait until after the election to make her decisions.....

You've got to be kidding. Director Arsh aka ' I can't find any qualififed African-Americans' is considering another tax! Listen I support a lot of D's, but this is nuts. We're just coming off of a tax of the few cities in the US to pass such a measure, and she throws this out there. The city already puts a premium fee on residents who want nice ornamental lamps and not those freeway cobra style lights over our streets. We put up with old equipment hooked to our homes that fall down during a seasonal rain/wind storm. Good - Get some private company like AEP or some co-op to take over. Would that mean less city workers too? Hey while your at it, get RuralMetro to be our medics and Pinkerton to protect the city. Then we can get out income tax back down to 2 or 1.5%!

Why not just give renters in Columbus $10,000 to leave. Turn off a street light for every taker. Offer $20,000 to unionized school teachers, firefighters, and police officers to leave the state. Don't replace them and use the savings for the electric bill. Turn off every other street light. Turn off office lights at night.Sell Toledo to Michigan. Annex West Virginia and mine their coal. Sell Cincinnati to Kentucky. Sell our state parks to Exxon Mobile.Build oil rigs in Lake Erie. Take away 1 meal per day from prisoners. Pay school teachers babysitter wages.Pay police officers security guard wages. Bulldoze vacant homes and chop down the street light.

Here's the solution...FIRE Arsh & keep the power company. Right now the power company is making money & lighting the streets. Arsh is costing the city money (in wages) & wants to shut down a cash cow. So what if it breaks even? It's still paying for the streetlights! If arsh wants it sold is she willing to take a cut in pay? After all her job will encompass less responsibility!

Well, if they are having possible deficits, they need to raise the rates passed onto electric consumers if they are paying BELOW the wholesale power rate. I'm against gouging , but charging below cost is STUPID. I guess she is trying to give the State a break on their electric bills...LOL Big Johnny must have got his first bill.

On the name Arsh, drop the r and h and put another s in place of the h.

The fact that this women ran the Sewer Division should proove to everybody that she's clueless on how to run a department. Don't believe me, look at the state of the sewer service and the fact that the Federal Governent sued (and won) us on our inability to prevent waste from flowing into the rivers.

If they DO sell it where does the money go that they get? IF this is something that makes financial sense they SHOULD do it and REMOVE politics from it. That's the problem with those in power these days, they govern by polling and elections rather than what's best for those that elected them... THAT is what I like about Kasich, he is isn't caving to those that disagree with him, although we won't know if the decisions he's making are correct for a few years...
