The dedication and skill of electrical workers every where is amazing. I fail to understand those who critize and complain of the lack of service in the face of storms and other catastrophies. We all should be most grateful and appreciative of their efforts. Restoration of service occurs quite quickly given the adverse and dangrous situations in which they often have to work. Thank you AEP...

This has very little to do with the workers dedication and everything to do with AEP not keeping the trees trimmed. They do not want to dip into those profits for a 'just in case' cause. It wouldn't take care of all of the outages but a good number of them. Kudos to the workerbees out there!

when aep trimmed trees in western ohio, (which btw experienced very few outages)many people complained that we shouldnt be trimming and cutting down tress. AEP cant win either way.

As AEP is a Service Provider, from a scale of 1 to 10 they are 0 . Folks what does this failure tell you? It tells me things have not changed much with AEP and their smartgrid meters are not so smart. I When a real force of nature happens Yes folks we are on our own. and AEP can raise your rates but their service still is under the carpet.

I see them trimming trees all over columbus all year long. The PUCO reports show that AEP increased tree trimming after Ike caused a lot of damage. I don't see the reason for your comments.

Columbus has always had problems getting power into neighborhoods which are growing a lot. This year AEP is putting in a new six mile underground transmission line under lane avenue due to increased construction in the OSU area. They installed a redundant line in my neighborhood so I can draw power from two directions. I haven't seen any outage in years.

Want to gripe about AEP? Then go climb a pole, and fix it yourself. Just once. In the sleet, wind blowing 40mph, in the dark. Go do it. Then, after you find out just how simple and easy it is, whine about AEP, and lousy service. My hat is off to the work these folks do, and do it safely. How easy it would be for one, or many of these workers to be seriously injured or killed doing this emergency work, so you can have a computer to sit at, and whine.

My friends in Old Beechwald have lived in their house for 40 years, and this problem has never been addressed. They were the last to have power restored after the Ike windstorm. They are still without power today.
