" When you have something that is really valuable, use it" What is so valuable Pa boy? Our natural resource's! And the comment about Marcellus and Utica shale. ""There is a real potential to help a lot of people that have been in deep economic trouble for a long, long time," he said. "It'll be a Godsend for our State."To be Governor who put us in this State of Economic Distress?? Would it be the Wars were in and had no money to fight. Or is it Wall Street's RECKLESS BEHAVIOR? I know you want to blame the Dem's,but your Captain of the Ship Was Bush Boy! And the money coming from the Oil projects in the Eastern part of Ohio are coming from a broad. Sort like the oil in Alaska being shipped to Japan! I'm leasing my farm and it will destroy it. But I figure I'll destroy it since we've owned it since 1911. And watch OHIO fade away to nothing. And don't forget when we went to WAR in IRAQ there oil was suppose to pay for OUR ENVOLVEMENT!!!!!

Jack Shaner is already trying to scare people in that Kasich appointments is going cause people to die because of his stance about business.
The Ohio Enviormental Council needs to back off and give Kasich time.

Things just keep getting worse around here everytime King John opens his mouth. You list this a a highlight? Making someone who is the director of a foreign based oil and gas company director of Natural Resources? Exploit is just what he will do. Kasich is clearly in the control of business interests and will sell out natural resources as fast as he can in an attempt to use Ohio as a staging site to run for national office to get oil contributions.
The budget issues had nothing whatsoever do to with Kasich's theft of out train. He is in the pocket of oil interests and we have all the proof we need of that with this appointment. There will be oil wells in every state park by the end of two years and the leases will be give aways. This person is the most destructive individual ever to hold office in Ohio. John D. Rockefeller would even be astonished by this appointment.
Rep. Batchelder, predicted budget protests on the statehouse lawn. If Kasich does not stop his drive to sell the state to business interests to increase his own power I think the civil unrest will be more significant than that as people realize that a benighted 49% of the electorate has caused the worst political disaster in Ohio's history.

Since I can read, I don't need Shaner to scare me. Kasich is scaring the crap out of me because he is dangerous and evil.

Congratulations Timmy...you are the first Kasich basher of the day. Oh and you did it with such complete style that everyone has come to expect from you: Pennsylvania birth (as if Kasich had a say in that), blaming him for the economy, blaming the wars, blaming Wall Street, blaming Bush, blaming oil, blaming Alaska.....whoa, you sure do a lot of blaming so early in the morning, but hey, we've all come to expect that. It's all you have to offer. Happy New Year!!!

We can wait and see what Kasich does - for a short while. He has shown evidence of hitting the ground running. Let us hope that his advisors turn out to be good ones, as a manager is no better than his advisors.
One of his first crises will be fuel costs for transportation. Dumping rail in favor of the highway lobby may turn out to be a mistake. Watch for that to develop.
Perhaps Kasich can strike out for the little guy by imposing taxes on speculative investing in such markets as petroleum. If the return is reduced enough, the investor will go someplace else. That could help reduce the "embarassing profits" that have plagued the industry for decades.

Victoria, you really don't have to worry about Kasich because with a statement like the one you just made,"he is dangerous and evil", it's obvious that you have bigger issues to deal with than Kasich. Get some help in the New Year and good luck.

By picking the guy for the ODNR I can bet we will have drilling in the stateparks and wildlife areas!
Nice job picking somebody with no background in a field! The ODNR is going to be ruined quickly!
His true colors are already starting to show!

How do you know he has no background in the field? Do you know the guy, or do you just HATE Kasich?

"Nally has 20 years of environmental experience" and that's counting his work with Perdue, one of the worst polluters in recent history - they're being sued for polluting the Chesapeake Bay. The other guy is tied to a Dubai oil and gas company. So what Kasich has done is appoint 2 environmental rapists to 'protect' us from environmental destruction.

Are you for real? First of all, name your source for your 99.9% number or did you get it from your backside? Secondly, all the unemployed Ohioans will surely appreciate a governor who understands that businesses are where jobs are created. What this state needs is a governor who is committed to working with businesses, not one with both hands out begging for money from DC. Geeezzz!

Of course he does. He's a corporate whore, always has been. He will be privatizing the state, turning everything he can over to private "enterprise" (he's already talking about prisons and highways) and making the state some short-term bucks while hurting us all in the long run.

This has already been done by far-right and tea-bagger Republicans in Arizona, and as a result the state's completely in the dumper economically. Short-sided profiteering, that's all....and that's what brought on the current economic mess in the first place. Casino-style economics sponsored by Wall St. and practiced by Wall St. Johnny's old firm, Lehman Bros.

Get ready for that rocky ride, Ohio, it's gonna be a LOOOONNNG 4 years.

Naw, she's correct. It's YOU who are in need of what your nick proclaims, "common sense." Like most Republicans, in fact.

You, and all of us, are going to pay the price for electing this corporate trollop....in the New Year, and beyond. Deal with it.

Maybe you could make some intelligent rebuttals instead of whining about "lib buddies" and telling the poster to "get help." But then, you wouldn't be a Rightie, would you?

Taft sucked as governor, but Strickland did a pretty fair job. Naturally, you're incapable of seeing beyond the fact that he ws a "lib" and Democrat.

Just go ahead and "blame the libs," hypocrite.
