Ameren UE Warns Customers Of Impostors Posing As Customer Service Reps

AmerenUE has issued a warning to customers about persons misrepresenting themselves in order to obtain credit card or bank account information.

If your account is in collections, they will never threaten to turn off your service. Collections agencies do not have that authority.
However, they will ask you to pay over the phone, which if your dealing with THE collection agency is perfectly safe (they are bound by SOOOO many laws!)
Just be careful... trust your gut... it almost always is correct!
