Sirs: How much more brain washing are you people going to try? Anyone that continues making huge profits and tries tell the people that they will go bankrupt without a big raise are damn liars and we will all go down the tube with all these faulse raises you claim is needed. We, the retired people are ones that need a raise. Thanks

I would suggest until you have all the facts that you not participate in these comment forums. First of all, there has not been a rate hike for 10 years, now when you were employed, did you go 10 years without a raise? I highly doubt it. People are not seeing the picture in whole and are believing what the government is printing, debating without researching the other side of the fence. Once you do that, then respond intelligently.

You're right... I have no problem with giving periodic raises to employees. But, if a lack of rate hikes for 10 years have withstood the burden of inflation and still yielded record profits, sounds like things can't be all bad. If the company is reaping record profits and not re-investing this in needed manpower, capital improvements, etc. shame on them. Just where are these profits currently going? Most prudent businesses who enjoy financial success plow a goodly amount of this back into their infrasturcture to assure continued success in the lean times. If this isn't happening then the problem appears to be more an internal one and not one for the subscribers to fix. So a rate hike occurs and the company increases their profits X-fold... what will Ameren responsibly do with this windfall? Somebody needs to explain why this doesn't appear to be sheer profiteering in a monopolistic environment.
