Now you can vote against the worst corporations
What if this year's elections were all about the issues - global warming, the mortgage meltdown, U.S. mercenaries killing civilians in Iraq? What if the elections allowed voters the opportunity to hold a ...

Just what could this lady be FOR? She is anti-commerce, anti-business and therefore jobs, anti-production of goods and services except that which is owned and/or controlled by a central government. Sounds like fascism.

Fascism, my arse. I think you're mixing up your ideologies, friend. As the name of the organization clearly states, this lady - and many others - is FOR "corporate accountability", something sadly lacking in the unbridled greed and exploitation allowed by our current system of corporate plutocracy and crony capitalism. Remember the idea of "checks and balances", and how important the founders believed that concept to be? BTW, aren't you the same neo-jerk that called me a moron last year when I suggested that we were headed for a taxpayer funded bailout of US banking and financial institutions? Like your hero G-dub always says: "Stay the course" Right? Unfortunately, that is only a good strategy if you aren't following an imbecile over a cliff. Do us all a favor and just try not to take too many more innocent people with you when you go, OK? |

RE: ".......the unbridled greed and exploitation allowed by our current system of corporate plutocracy and crony capitalism."
You got one word right: "capitalism" That's right, capitalism is our system and has allowed the American Dream to become reality. Capitalism provides jobs for over 75% of Americans.(The rest work for the government.) Capitalism we have been able to feed the world, protect the world from the tyranny of fascism, communism and, most lately, midieval, theocratic barbarism. Not to say that capitalism hasn't been abused by the likes of the Morgans, Vanderbilts, Rockefellers and Carnegies. Capitalism, like democracy, may not be ideal system, but all the others are so much worse. Now go look up Robinson-Patman Act, Sherman Act, and I may think of a few others. |

Being FOR capitalism is not the same thing as being AGAINST accountability. And just because you call our system "capitalism" or a "free market economy" doesn't make it true. Besides, if accountability amounts to fascism, then the sweeping reforms being proposed by the Bush Administration must make him a modern-day Mussolini. In point of fact, the "reform" that is currently being foisted on the hapless American public is more akin to a quasi-socialistic sleight of hand designed to rescue the corporate mucky-mucks from the consequences of their own greed and short-sighted stupidity, once again an ill-fated attempt to transform long-term fiscal responsibility into an event rather than a process, which is its true nature and purpose. Ironically, if US strategy in regard to economic and foreign policy is not dramatically revised post-haste to more closely resemble the true nature of capitalism, people like you will no longer be able to make the vaccuous argument that "our system may not be perfect, but it's better than anything else" BTW, laws mean nothing unless they are enforced. Wouldn't you agree? |
Do you realize what you've just said in several hundred well-chosen words? Absolutely nothing; must be a student of Obama. What is the "accountability" you infer that I am against? Think R-P and/or Sherman laws are not enforced? A number of former executives doing or having done hard time would like to think so.(Our former legal staff pounded that into our heads almost weekly.) |

One Major step that all members of Congress must, I say MUST, address is the relationships between NYSE and other builders that have vested interests in Mortgage Companies. Congress must end this cozy format as part of the OVERHAUL of the Financial System.
We cannot have New Home Builders owning mortage companies, and title companies. The NYSE and other builders that have vested interest must divest their interest in these mortgage affiliates. If the cozy relationship continues we will never solve this housing crisis. Builders have a piranah approach with employees of their mortgage companies, approve at all costs; if you will not co-operate in the fraudulent process then you will be a victim of the piranah culture. LIAR LOANS and other false documentation as may be surfaced during DOJ investigations was all to often the norm to get the home at all costs and satisfy the Wall Street Crowd. Anyone that thinks the housing industry is bottoming out better look at AUTO SALES< RETAIL SALES> RESTAURANT SALES>ETC>ETC>. GOOD PAYING JOBS are being cut and slave labor is the pay of the day with corporate america. What is happening is a financial meltdown and mark my words the end is not in sight. We need to create good paying jobs so that people can eat, sleep, and drink water at a normal level. All we are doing is nothing. |

All I know speaking to many people all over this nation, is corporate greed and fraud has never been as high in our history as it has been under the Bush watchful eye...
Make of it what you will as I regret voting him a 2nd term promising the first term to fix problems he seems to ignore from corp. fraud to illegal immigration... Problem is, not one damn candidate running this year is worth a grain of salt and anyone of them voted inw ill be status quo and part of an elite private club whichever way you go, and for many reasons... America needs a revolution again and demand accountability at every level of our government and those entrusted leaders we put in offices which have creatively, and skillfully, manipulated laws and foundational traditions that made this nation so they, and their friends, can exploit more monies from the majority of us citizens... Have any of you ever realized 90% or more of politicians today are lawyers first, and trained to use legal deception and manipulative techniques to sway opinion and get what they want including having major laws changed to benefit their long range agendas while the majority of you do nothing and go along with the crap you are fed daily..?? |

You are 100% correct sir!!!! I don't wnat to talk about Builders and developers who willfulyl exploit illegal mexicans paying them cash under table while decent skilled employees do not get hired or are forced to work for 50% of what we used to pay skilled tradesmen 10 years ago in many cases- especially here in NC I have uncovered so many abuses corps dealing fraudulently and reported them and not a damn thing happens to them.. These Buidlers get bankers in their back pockets, appraisers, realtors, brokers and lawyers who all conspired (out of greed) creating this massive real estate problem we are now just entereing and as I said years ago, NEVER, NEVER should fixed US real estate be allowed to become the former dot.com internet stock scam frenzy created in the late 90's taking many peoples' lifetime incomes & retirement funds then- as today, it will be far more reaching overall and destructive to the majority of US citizens, around 300+ million people overall, just wait & see.. |

LOL. I think your last post revealed the true nature of the problem. Sorry, friend, but I have to reserve my spoon-feeding energy for my grandbaby. |
