The battle of the giants have been a conversation of the watercoler for years now, Indesign v Quark, which is better? well as a creative director, I've used both each has it's good points, but it seems that Indesign has reached a higher lever of interactivity between the various programs. Now with the changes in production techniqies, can quark keep up? Now that the use of data and the Igen press, quark's loosing the battle. I started my career with Pagemaker & Quark, Quark was far superior, Indesign has set the bar and all quark can do now is try to keep up.

As a designer that works mostly in the print and Web design, I must say that for ease of work flow and layout Quark is by far the superior tool. Although I will admit that Indesign offers alot more beyound layout design. I am not looking for my main layout tool to offer extra bells and whistles. Since I have purchased both, I find that for my money, Quark is my tool of choice.
