Accenture at Best Buy...totally incompetent!!

I work at Best Buy in Minneapolis, and they have outsourced their legacy system maintenance and development and many other functions to Accenture. I just have to post and say what an ABSOLUTE JOKE they are!!!
I gave them requirements for a project 8 months ago, and they did nothing with them until 2 days ago. They basically rewrote what I gave them, took out a lot of stuff they can't do (without consulting me), and told me that's what my requirements are now. And also that what they handed me cannot be changed without project sponsor approval due to timeline constraints. No apology for not getting with me sooner (even though I asked them to several times), no apology for not being able to implement our requirements, nothing. Gee, I thought dictating to the customer what their technology needs are went out in the 1970's!!!
They also changed the system architecture in a way that will require substantial human interevention and labor costs from my department. They did not consult me about the change, and when I brought it up as an issue, they yelled at me for questioning it! They also told me it was too late to change it because they're already behind on delivery.
I could go on and on...
All I can say is if you're considering applying for a job with them...don't!! With this kind of customer (dis)service, they won't be around much longer. My department is already looking at ways to outsource projects to anybody other than Accenture, and pretty much, most other groups at Best Buy already do so.

Your story sounds like quite a nightmare Ramat. However, given the fact that you as a client are unhappy with the service provided, I fully expect that your complaints will result in the ACNers who messed up getting severely chastised and probably eventually fired.

There are a couple of points that sound weird though. For example, how is it possible for no interim documentation to have been produced for 8 months? Also, how can you not get the inadequate specs generated thrown out? Given you're in charge from the client side, the requirements cannot be signed off without your consent. And finally, how can they possibly get away with screaming at you? I get the feeling that your upper level management might not be aware of your concerns. Is this the case?

We have a bad time here with the RISE project in Best Buy Canada. Their consulting workforce is a bunch of idiots. They are good for nothing but making lives difficult for service workforce people. They are there basically to generate revenue target for their Senior Executives with no regard to client value. Imagine they fly in an analyst on a weekly basis from Toronto or Montreal to Vancouver just to organize meeting and adding project ITG tasks. Best Buy is also an idiot to be exploited like this by Accenture. But with Bob Willett at the helm, who dares to tell the truth or be a whistle blower? Emperor's new cloth is fully at play in Best Buy Canada.
